No soil!

Coco coir + 30% Perlite is what you grow your sprouted seed in (I usually germinate the seed in a Jiffy pellet, then after it's head pops up, bury the entire Jiffy pellet in the coco mix).
It's really very easy but you do need to water with PH 6.0 1/4 strength nutrient + cal-mag mix from the day you bury the Jiffy pellet in the coco.
Missing out the odd day doesn't seem to hurt anything now and again.

The Jiffy pellet is hidden under the coco.

People weren't meant to step foot on the moon, or swim far beneath the waves on temporary oxygen, but we got around that.

All the energy plants would normally put towards finding nutrients and water in soil, is put into growth, in hydro, since water and nutes are being directly supplied to the roots.

Not here to argue. I am glad you love your style. The plant is still maintaining the same processes regardless of medium. But the hydro is lacking all the mysteries of soils true content and inhabitants. When geeks in lab coats identify, understand and put these missing things in a bottle in the correct ratios to duplicate nature, I'll try it. Until then soil is the better choice in my book. We get similar results either way.

I think he’s trying to say just like you can’t recreate the sun, you can’t recreate the earth.

Never done hydro would love to try it.

I'd happily grow in soil If I could, but these hybrid cannabis plants are so damned delicate, and my soil sources are so restricted, that I can't.
My soil is like concrete, everything available to buy has loads of chemical fertiliser in it ....... the plants just slowly die.

Coco, I've got choice about what I can put in it, and the plants seem to grow.

Thai LandRace plants, entirely different, they grow great in the builders rubble that is my backyard even though it's 40c in the sun.

And with hydro, all the weights in the water. Empty, the totes and pipes weigh nothing. I can't lift bags of soil because of my back. But I've got a water outlet going into my reservoir, so all I've got to do is turn a knob

I understand shit soil. You can’t do much with it. I have that on my land. Sand with a bit of humus. So I build yards of garden soil from leaf mold, biochar, compost, chicken feathers, mineral powder, coffee grounds, chicken shit.

Mix your own. Easy, organic and legal to buy online. The heavy parts are available locally. If you have a small shaded spot outside? You can start a compost/ mulch pile. Have amazing live soil in a season. And better every one after.

I built raised beds with fabric sides to breathe and warm the roots. I collect rain off my roof and store in cisterns to run to these beds as drip lines. Run on a timer. Constant moisture levels. No Ca and Mg buildup and lockout of the soil over time as with watering with well water.

Great if you live in the USA/Canada/Europe.
Not so easy if you live in SEA, and any products suggesting 'cannabis' are prohibited from sale or import.
And nothing organic is offered for sale anywhere, just chemical farm products.

Well, it’s like feeding your baby formula rather than mother’s milk. And this is why hydro is universally known to taste worse than soil. Because you are missing elements in hydro

and let’s face it... how hard is it to grow a plant in a pot of soil... c’mon
