Soil Runoff pH question

Hi All,

Quick question about pH of soil runoff water. I am using FFOF with a bit extra perlite in 3 gallon grow bags. I transplanted from cups to bags last week and watered last night for the first time. I pH'ed my water to 6.8, watered, and then tested the runoff. pH of the runoff was 6.1 - 5.9. Plants look great, but I am wondering if this will become a problem later on? If so, what could I do to alleviate this? I plan on transplanting in about another week or two into 5gl smart pots.. should I add some lime to the FFOF this time? Or, should I simply start watering with pH 7.1 water to try and even things out?

Thanks in advance!

good question I'm not 100 percent sure how to answer but i think aslong as you test your soil to make sure the pH is correct u should be fine

I would ph the water to 7.1 personally. Its hard to mix lime into an already going pot. On your next batch add some lime.

I also just started a grow 3 weeks ago using ffof, the soil in ph'd at 6.8, you should just water it for a month, unless your plants are asking for something, I learnt this the hard way!! just keep doing what your doing it will be fine, like scrog said!!
