I currently have 2 - 5 day old seedlings in miracle gro potting soil. I want to put them in a soiless mix bc I don't like not being in control of nutes. would transplanting them be harmful? If not, how do I do so?

I've done it several times and never a problem. Carefully pull the plant out of the pot and dip it in a container of water to get rid of most of the goil, then rinse the rest off very carefully. Some of the soil stuff will stick to the roots so avoid the inclination to pull it off. Put them in the net pots ASAP and get them into the water quickly. Try to avoid the roots staying exposed to light any more than possible, and only do one at the time.

If the plant intended to be transplanted is in a small pot you have no worries as it will be negligible and nothing to worry about no longer .. Otherwise follow the instructions above but transfer into a soiless media of your choice and gently water with a weak fert with B1 supplemented such as ThriveAlive
