My first grow, Gelato 33 will be harvested in maybe 5 weeks.
DWC and doing very well.
I don't smoke............... haven't had a drag in 8 years and when I did, I could have bought Brick or Top shelf, Could not tell ya the difference...

Is there a difference in "Smoke" or flavor from soil VS hydro? and if so how can You describe it please?
I love my hydro the buds are better. One thing I use a carbon filter attached to a bong so the taste is plain smooth....

I love hydro though way better than soil I'm on ebb flow tables.

Organic soil grows will measure out with higher terpene counts. Also a broader spectrum of terps.
Soil and synthetic's is right behind that but, scores lower and has less broad a spectrum.

Hydro is, well,, lacking on ALL fronts as far as terpene production is concerned.

Hands down - Soil wins easy peasy like.

DO NOT try any soda pop or such, for anything! That is an old joke here...

LOL...do you remember when I flushed a solo-cup gal with Mountain Dew, as a joke?

It added a bit of a sickening sweet taste to the smoke...making it not that funny of a joke
YUK but, yeah I remember....LMAO

This being my first grow, I am trying DWC.... might stay with it another run till my nute supply runs low then look into indoor full organic soil.
All this is just a nice learning experience to me.
Hearing how flavors are affected by growing medium sounds like I need to try (eventually).
I can tell you that entering week 7 of flower, My gelato wreaks!!! Not in a bad way, but damn...

Not in my test but since I didn't use same seeds it's not fair. I also use a carbon filter on my bong
Nor did you bother to lab test.

Any side by side will fall under the scope of "Once given a task. The mind will find a difference in that favor". Even if one does NOT exist!

That makes no sense at all, but it was funny! Anyhow... there is no real difference because plants convert whatever they are fed, salts / organics, into their own usable chemicals. Oh sure if you go feeding you plant things like food coloring and shit like that, some of it will end up in the plant in its raw form because the plant cannot possible convert inert matter that is riding in or on, convertible nutrients!
it was kinda funny but at the end of the day its genetics and what u grow with if u grow with dirst and water its gunna taste like dirt but with the wmount of product on the market these days i can make my outdoor taste and look the same as hydro these days
