Solar garden light keeping my plant in veg?

Hey guys, first time outdoor grow and I am possibly over thinking this. Its sept 1st and my plant is showing little to no signs of flowering. I waant to concerned as there is still almost, 13 hours of sun here.

But then I seen my neighbours plant, he gifted me my clone and is pretty positive they are the same strain, we both planted late june, i lst'd mine and give it nutes, he just lets his grow. His plants main cola is full of bud you can see them from even far away fattening up, every branch has lots of bud forming. Mine has none

Got me thinking, whats different. Then i noticed my solar light, only 3 feet away, and its a decently bright led one. Could this sucker be keeping my plant in veg? I removed it today, but i wont know if it flips to flower because of this, or because summer solstice is just 3 weeks away.

Is the idea of a small solar light placed thia far away keeping a plant in veg retarded or plausible. Pics attached

Forgot to add this 2nd pic, some pistils showing I believe, but nothing like my neighbour who could have smokable bud soon. I am in canada also, we get frost here, going to be a tight finish

Yes solar light can keep them from flowering. Some people use them for supplemental lighting when they plant their garden early to keep them from going into early flower.

Debating if I should try and dig up her assumingly huge root ball and put her in the 7 gallon smart pot I have and move her inside into the tent. Or will I just kill it?

If I wait and frost comes early and she dies Ill have nothing, if I kill it while transplanting Ill have nothing. Or I chance it and leave it be, but if shes gets 4-6 weeks into flower then I definetely cant transplant if I see a weather forecast for hard frosts...

The dilemna

i'd bet you get bugs to survive til harvest, if nothing else...

Or.... you could start light dep asap. Then just keep her covered every night when it's going to get too chilly. Filling a two liter bottle full of super hot water and them putting that at the base of the plant and then covering them up has never failed me....and we get early frosts where I live. Either way as long as your careful I think you will be fine hon

or, you could remove the light.

i've had plants flower under 1000w hps street lamps before. like, at the base underneath... a tiny led solar light weighs a pound or so, right? pull it up and put it away...?

Yeah Def get rid of the solar light. Some of those are really bright.

It got removed today when i had the eureka moment. What do you cover the plants wit, with the hot water ganga girl? A small make shift greenhouse? Clear plastic? Black? Hell ill put a space heater in with her if this is going to work.

Its my first ever plant, i did take 5 clones off her recently and have a tent inside setup to grow those clones, but to hell if i want mom to be a complete waste

Really depends on the size of the plant. I've used everything from construction bags to homemade greenhouse. This yr I'm just hoping for the best because my plants are much to large to cover.
However a good tip also when it gets cold is make sure you mulch the shit out of it. The decomposing of the leaves and grasses will put off a little heat. And make sure before a frost that you give them plenty of water.
I don't want to see you lose it either. Glad you moved it.

Was thinking at work, I have this electric battery blanket, basically its a pad that is meant to be wrapped around your car battery in winter to help with starting, it simlply plugs into a household socket. Would this be a good solution to keep the plants roots a little warmer? Im pretty sure its something like 300watts, so decent moderate heat

I could bury it an inch in mulch, it is approx 6"X 24" leave it running on any nights frost is close or expected... In tandem with having a little greenhouse made up. Or would warming up the surface of the soil not do much for me here? Could also wrap it around the stock of the plant aswell, at the base perhaps, warm the actual plant up

I think it would depend on how warm it got..... too warm and it might cook the roots or stem. But your on the right track. I would look it up online and find out the exact temp peak it gets. Also if it is too hot, jiffy makes a seed starting mat that stays warm but doesn't get hot!

Just went to the garage to make sure I still had it, one of those gifts someone gave me that I never ended up using, still brand new, it is infact only 80 watts, USA made, looks to be very high quality so Im not worried about placing it just under some mulch right ontop of soil.

Ill have to do a test and see how hot it really gets, it says right in the instructions not to operate it unless the temperatures are 5*C or below though, which possibly means it gets farely hot and can overheat if it doesnt have cool ambient air to keep it cool. I'll have to put it in the cold cellar and record my findings, or maybe even the fridge
