Solid wetting agent?

What can I mix in with peat moss to make it hold moisture and remain wet better? So it is less hydrophobic?

Zeolite holds on to moisture well, acts as an aggregate and has good cation exchange capacity.

I second yucca as a wetting agent alongside zeolite to keep the moisture in. You don't want peat going hydrophobic.

I usually put about 10-15% zeolite in my mix alongside uxp pumice and yucca for drainage and water holding capacity.

Dawn dish soap is what I've read can work, I use silica though. I used to use protekt Now armor si , both work great but need to be mixed into the feed first. If going organic you could mix in something that contains Si I'm pretty sure is horsetails(plants) or maybe something else local has it

Literally any dish soap. I just use the cheap stuff from the local supermarket. I don't really have the problem with my weed plants, as I bottom water, but this year my veg garden was a nightmare to stop drying out. Dish soap worked well.

Maybe find yucca root (for cooking) and ground yourself.

Brexit is proof that stupid people shouldn't be allowed to vote. Is ordering from the UK really that bad if you are in the EU? I am in the UK and ordering from the EU hasn't really been too bad.

Look for soap nut powder. I use a Tablespoon of yucca power per gallon of water when mixing soil. Helps a little. Supposed to have drought resistant bonus stuff of some sort. If you live in England or whatever you probably don't need that bonus stuff.
