Today I wanted to start a side by side comparison on different soils. I will be running two clones from same mother and will be running #1 in Fox farms ocean forest and #2 in pro mix both soil came straight from bag.

Nutes
Both plants will be fed with
Ionic growth and bloom
Earth juice brand sea kelp and blackstrap molasses
As well as cal mag as needed

Lighting

Will consist of 90 watt ufo with 2 daylight cfl style flood lights

I will be vegging these for three weeks then flipping to 12/12 under same light if I left anything out feel free to ask

So here's a update at the moment my plant in the oceans forest soil seems to be growing a little bit faster than the pro-mix soil

I missed my 14 day update so here's day 16 pulled out to check on the roots and decided that it was time for a transplant so here you go

ProMix is sterile. Blackstrap is used to feed microbes in soil but if your soil is sterile then there is no use for Blackstrap.
 
pro mix is also soiless and without any nutes, FFOF is loaded with nutrition for plants so if your not feeding them then of course the FFOF is going to grow faster..
 
Your clones started out with a difference in leaf cover. This will give the clone with greater leaf surface an advantage from the beginning. A slight advantage at the beginning stage could lead to a significant advantage in initial root development and this will translate into a faster, more full flush of leaves in the beginning and may translate into head-start.
 
The ocean forest roots were way fuller and more massive but the promix I believe is doing good nothing so far but water and sea bird guano

I'm the champ. everyone else is below me jk lol
