okay, so here's the deal.
on monday 12/10 i took 2 liters of water from the tap, and tested the pH... at 7.21, it has gotten a bit higher, so i'm glad i have my new stuff!
i added some pH down that i picked up at the local hyro shop
...and settled on pH 5.83. i think i'll try to keep it here for a while and see how the babies react. i would like to hear (from anyone who adjusts pH) the subtler things anyone's observed about precisely what their plants like pH-wise.
okay, when it comes to the nutes, i have a weird thing going on, and that is, my water straight out of the tap is registering like 87ppm on my tds meter. i really don't think there is residue in my pitcher to cause this, but maybe i'm wrong... so anyway, i made my batch of nutes, tested it, it came out low, so i added more, and then it went way over what i wanted, so then i froze, and as usual, stoned, so i was panic stricken hahahaha (gotta laugh at myself

)... "oh no!", i thought. "i could add water to it to dilute the ppm, but then it's going to be the wrong pH, and i don't know, can i add pH down
after adding nutes? paralysis via analysis. at the end i couldn't stand the pressure anymore and just fed the plants. so, i don't know, guess i rationalized that if my plain water was registering 87ppm, that maybe my meter slipped out of calibration or something, and that my number below was more like 420 instead of 507, and that it might push the plants a little but that they'd be okay, but i was really aiming for like 300ppm.
it's frustrating... i figured i would be more confident this time having gotten through my first grow, but since i'm making my grow more complicated, it feels like i am an idiot again haha. at every new turn here, at the last second, i have all of these questions, and a limited amount of time to get a task done, so that's how this kind goofs come to be i guess lol
better control will evolve out of this experience though
the following are the pics from the day they got their first feed and went under the 400w mh
ww1
ww2
ww3- this one was just flopped over... it almost looks like something chewed the stem, but i can't quite tell, and i'm inclined to think it just got overwhelmed by the rootjuice.
somango 1
somango 2- this is the runt of the litter, for sure.
somango 3 here's a close up shot- got some burn here, not sure if it's nute burn or light burn. heat is NOT an issue, overnuting maybe, and the light slipped down the first day while i was away, which sucked to come in and see. my new reflector is very heavy- and bright

forgot to post a pic, gotta get this post done and do some errands, but maybe i'll post some more stuff later tonight..
okay, and here are today's pics, just after i fed em. they got 300ppm of biogrow with 5.8 pH water.
the garden, such as it is...
s2 and ww3 are dead... i have pics, but i'm not gonna post them... unless you
really want to see a dead seedling. here are a couple pics of the survivors.
ww 1
somango 3
i had pics of the other 2 but seem to have misplaced them- i may take some new ones tonight before bed, but i just want to get this post up now before i accidentally delete it (like i did on monday

)
the somangos seem to accept the abuse i'm giving them better than the white widow so far lol... well... that's all for now... i'll be in and out tonight, but i'll check out everyones' threads later tonight, so hope to see some of you online
