Some expert advise please..

i wanted to start a thread to help me through the prosses.

I have 1 grow under my belt and a planing for a future of growing my own stash.. I read 1000's of post on this sight and have done extensive research.

My last grow was in soil, but i just built a sweet ass aero cloner, and am in the prosses of building 2 totes with aprox 20 sites in each. So i'm guess i'm switching to aero/hydro set up.

I have a duel ballest that lets me run 2 400w bulbs ( hps in one side mh in the other/ or two of one).

My goal is to yeild 1 lb every 2-3 months

So my question is would a sog or srog work for this or just use 1 tote and let them fill out.

Also i will be starting from seed untill i can sex and clone my crop.
I would like to grow Chocalope or bluemoonshine, ak47, desile, white widowor mango. I want to put a 1 strain in each tote. Which do you think would work best.

any REAL help will be a great, and be rewarded with ex points.

I think you should start by seeing what you can do with fairly large plants in hydro. Try 4 in each tote and shoot for 3 -4 ft plants getting 4 oz from each. That is doable and would be 2 lb from 2 totes.

the totes are about 18 inches tall, add that to 4 ft of plant, and room for the light and space will be a real issue.. but thank you.

If you are going to an aero system make sure you take a lot of precautions for pump failures and power outages. I've had two friends lose a large amount of crops in the past month due to these issues.

Use two pumps in case one dies and get a UPS power back up. Just think of the chances of a power outage in the winter, her it's 100% that it's going to happen at least for a few hours. That will result in your plants dying unless you have back up power. Also make sure you keep a spare pump in the house.

Also make sure you get the right spray jets. The ones they sell at Home Depot will eventually close. Take a look at EZ Clone spray jets on Ebay. They are a lot cheaper than at the grow store.

indeed much miore complicated,and i think youll find some of those strains are not very well suited for SOG grow,they like space and height

Thanks to the two guys above.. in the aero set up i have spare pumps and sprayer heads ( the sprayer heads and end caps are the only pieces not glued.) i am running a 250g/ph hour pump and have a back up 500+g/ph pump.
but i want to have a pound to smoke and fuck with. maybe grow a year get a few pounds and chill for a while..

If you know some better strains, i'm more than open to sugestons...maybe cheese?

you could scrap your totes and grow vertical use allll the space possible. the other option is make all your hydro boxes like your cloner and as soon as they have roots to support themselves flower the lil bastards. Either way you need to buy some damn good seeds that are heavy producers and get fucking good at cloning.

they are built the exact same just bigger net pots ( i was going to start with rapid rooters).. thats what i was thinkin. 20-30 plants with the under growth cut. maybe flower at 9-12 inches.. i also was plannig on making a trelis with the leftover pvc

You can decide the height of the plants to fit your space. All I am saying is that in a small space, you can't really get maximum yield unless you use all the space. So you should plan on having plants as big as possible, but no bigger.

yea i was thinking i could go right from the clonner to the flower table. I have two lids for the clonner 1 holds the neoprean pucks and the other is for 2in netti pots... I was thinking i'll prolly need 4in netties in the "grow" totes.. i'm not sure how this will work.

how bout air stones? i just got a 40 gallon air pump and 24in air curtin tube.. it's only for about 10-15 gallons... is this enuff? Plus if i had cut clones in the clonner, how long be for i can put them in to flower?( im keeping veg time down due to height issues)
