hi guys ive decieded to do my 1st grow ive read this forum from top to botton so got most things covered i think lol ive got my self a grow tent 3ftx3ft square 9ft high and im gonna be using a 400w metal halide for veg and a 400 hps for flower i have a ph meter i have my own supply ov ro water as i keep marine fish its needed for this so im lucky to have a unit installed the ro unit produces 0 tds ro water and the grow system will be a DWC hydroponics my questions are

1 whats the adavantages ov using ro water

2 does the setup sound ok

3 whats the best nutes to use at a good price i dont wonna start spending £££s i live in the uk so any nutes to recomend i can get in the uk

4 the seeds i have are white widow are these ok to start on

5 im unsure about flushing can someone please explain a little how often do i need to do it do i just flush with plain ro water or add anything??

manythanks

ive read the ideal ph for hydro is 5.8 to 6.5 hydro how stable is the ph will the it need adjusting daily. is there daily ph swings as mention above i keep marine fish so know the importance ov ph in a marine tank the ph rises at night when lights out and lower againg during the day lights on is the similar with hydroponics

Hey dude, I'm uk grower too. My best advice would be eBay is the best to get good stuff for growing. Bio Bizz Nutes and Bio Bizz All Mix soil is all I use and there great and not too expensive.

ill try to help as best as i can..
1) the benefits of ro water are exactly what you said.. no tds, which is just better for beneficial bacteria and such..
2) the set up sounds good to me.. dwc is a nice way to grow from what i've seen.. i have seen some really nice harvests out of a dwc set-up
3) i keep hearing alot about a brand house and garden.. i've never used them personally, but i have heard that they are great for the price.. i use the fox farms line of products, which will run about $50 us for the three pack
4) white widow is a nice strain.. i don't think it should give a noob any trouble
5) i grow in dirt, and don't really believe in flushing for dirt, but i don't know much about dwc, so maybe some one else could help you out on that one..

the ph is pretty critical in a hydro setup.. im not sure how much of a swing that your gonna get, but i have heard that some hydro's will slowly increase over time, but like i said, i've only grown in dirt thus far, maybe someone else can help out some more on this one for you as well...

1.reverse osmosis water has the advantage of being completely pure, nothing but pure H2O will be able to pass through the semipermeable membrane filter

2.your setup sounds great, just be sure you get some sufficient ventilation and fans to help regulate temp., humidity, and a light breeze on plants will promote great stem and root strength

3.you should get fox farms hydro nutes, "Grow Big" 3-2-6 for vegging, i use "Beastie Bloom" 0-50-30 for flowering...these should be rather cheap, try ebay they have some great deals on fox farm nutes!

4.White Widow is perfect for begginers, it's easy to grow, yet it still yields great quality bud!

5.you should probably change your reservoir once every 2 weeks, and for flushing before harvest, you could just go with regular water, or you can add flushing nutes, like "Final Flush Blueberry" to add a hint of blueberry taste and increase quality of crop

your dwc shouldn't be the same as your marine tank, because your reservoir SHOULD NOT LET IN ANY LIGHT AT ALL, or you could get algae build up and root burn

good luck man, hope this helps!
