Some pics of the Bubble-Cloner ...

Okay, for those who're interested, and those who've given advice, I thought I'd take a few pics of the new cloner and some 'demo' clones I've taken for a test-run.

I wouldn't mind doing a daily progress journal: Just to see if any wilting or miscellaneous bad stuff happens. But that'd been fucking round with the camera every day! .. Be easier to simply post: "They're doin FINE - So far so good" or "They're dying, Ugh!", I do believe :)

First, the Cloner ..

..you can only JUST see the copper wire I used to create a light 'frame' for the airstones, in the lower-left-front of the box.. I'm surprised I managed to get 14 holes in the lid without splitting the plastic in the process. Woulda been 15, but I opted to place the air-lines at the top, to eliminate any leaking or drips. The Motherwort cuttings at the back look like they're leaning over, but it's just the angle they're on. They've already started to muster-up the ol' photo-tropic response and turn to face the window/light-source. All the cuttings are still turgid: and we're past the hottest part of the day now.

..and here are a few snaps of the pots: I ended up slicing a circle into the base, to ditch the closed plastic, and allow the stem to extrude to the fizz-water. As you can see, the mesh-pots must've been designed by a complete retard, but a little improvisation rectified design flaws.

The left photo is of a Marijuilla (Siberian motherwort) cutting. Middle & Right are both the same Catnip cutting. As I said in my scattered posts around the forums: I'm using ordinary, common garden plants for a test-run of the cloner. Since i only have ONE plant, and it's not big enough to strike from (not without stunting it again, and it took a while to recover from the last failed strikings), I have time to get the cloner working 100%, and iron-out any kinks, before I am ready to try MJ cuttings/clones.

That's that really. The cuttings were struck last night at about midnight, and after 6-7 hours now of direct morning sun, they're still turgid, healthy, and doing fine. The temperature today is sposed to reach 38oC (100+oF?) so I'm not going to need an aqua heater for quite a few months yet. Summers here (from what I've noticed) are about equivalent to Florida, maybe hotter - not sure, since I've not been to Florida :)

So even with the dry, hot are, and direct sunlight all morning, they're still perfectly happy. The catnip mother is VERY prone to wilting too: If it runs low on water, or the sun gets too much, the entire plant will just *sag*.. so the fact the Catnip cuttings are doing so well is a good sign :)

Might go out and fill-up the other - what - six or so empty spots on the tray.

I only stopped last night cos it was getting late, and I was getting tired. so I stopped at 8 cuttings.

Have a good new year. :)

Here's the only plant I have at the moment, and a pic of the spots on one of the leaves I was asking about, too, while I'm here.

.. if I had more seeds, I'd have more in the ground. But out of only two bag-seeds I got out of an ounce, one was killed by the dog as soon as it sprouted, which just left this one. In my haste to start extra plants, I took two clones from this plant when it was WAY to young, and as a result, it was badly stunted, and very slow to recover for a few weeks. Naturally, both the cuttings died, and only in the past two weeks (I xplanted it into an organic, large pot a fortnight ago), it's started to really come back nicely.

And that's that. Like I also said: The spots on the leaves aren't any kind of danger to the plant, they just ruin her complexion. Hopefully it's a HER. If I call HER 'She' often enough, maybe SHE will take the hint :)

Buenas diaz amigos :)

not too sure about the discoloration on the leaf? was it wet and then put into the sun?

They're the spots I'm referring to :)

Reakon it's just sunburn?

The HAVE been wet a few times when the sun was out: ON a 38-40oC day, when everything wilts, I figure a bit of sunburn is better than cooking in the sun :)

Lesser of two evils, an' all that ;)

Edit: I also think, that the soda water has done them immense good, though it could've just been the new, larger pot and more importantly: The organic mix it was moved to :)

I should've taken BEFORE as well as current - after - pics. Two weeks ago it didn't look like it was ever going to take off.

I got a few others. I'll resize em and upload them too. GImme a minute :)
