I'm going to flush the system tomorrow clean it out real good. any advice on what products to use to help cure my problem? I read something on here but can't think of the name. the thread said the product will foam up. any advice. thanks guys and gals.

This could be a number of things Pictures and i will be able to tell you. If its a brown tint no slime its just the nutrients building up. What are you putting in the tank. Have you used any stuff like great white or Bennies? Let me know i will check back when i get up...

to get super white and healthy roots, add a bottle of 70% hydrogen peroxide and add it to your reservoir. it will kill the brown rot

Pretty sure the plant leaves themselves have a little heat stress the temp got a little high yesterday. I noticed they are curled some. going to changed out my resi and raise the light up a couple inches today. btw what do you recommend the proper height for the light from the top of the plants? 400watt hps, air cooled hood.

Ok those roots look good that is just nute stain. But if you have 2 plants in the same containers you should get them split up. You are gonna have a huge problem with root bound. From the looks of it its not to late to seperate the plants into seperate pots. As far as distance of hood goes. what type of hood do you have?

My nutes are not brown though. they are solids which turn blue

Smart Sun II 6" Air Cooled Reflector.

But looks like I have another problem now. was looking closer at the plants and found this :[

Air colled good you will be ok 12 to 16 inches away... Just keep the light as close as possiable so they dont stretch on ya... Just make sure temps are dialed in. First i would get them into seperate containers. Dont stress to much about that picture shit like that happens sometimes now if it keeps happing then you have aproblem... As far as the roots go what exactly are you putting in the res? What is teh res temp? Cause those roots look nice and healthy.

Im using formula flora for nutes. on the grow stage right now. http://www.formulaflora.com/home.php. ppm is right around 1000. about to bump it up to 1200ppm today. the res. temp stays around 76*F-80*F. The res is in the same room as my grow. its kind of hard to put it in another room right now though. I dont want to run water lines through the wall lol. I am thinking of recirculating the water. I have everything to do it already. If it all recirculates it may keep it a little cooler. Thank you so much for the help. idk what I would do without this site and some of the awesome members.

I have to leave for a few hrs i will check back to help. Dont raise the PPM yet

first thing is those roots look good now but they wont if you keep your res temps that high. They need to be around 65 atleast 70 or below. First thing i would do is get the res out of the room or get a chiller. Be back

ya you need to lower your res temps by about 20 degrees. 60-65 degrees. at 85 degrees there is almost no dissolved oxygen in your water and your roots are gasping for air. As phish said, your roots look fine...for now.

ok it will be this weekend before i can move the res into a different room. but just because the res would be cooler does that mean the buckets the plant themselves are in will stay cooler also? and I also found a few more leaves with a hole in them. 3 total. is this good or bad? well cant be good...

i'd check to make sure there's nothing eating your plants but it just looks like minor damage. no big deal unless you have bugs

Well with out a Recerc. system they will still get warm. But the will be 10 times better then they are now. The ideal way is recerc. with a chiller in between set chiller on 62 and walk away..

I was going to try a recerc system but i need bigger tube or pipe for the return line. the water was getting a little high and was afraid it would start to overflow. so I just put it back to how it was before. as for the holes in the leaves. not sure on whats eating the plants. but what can i use to get rid of the bugs cause i know my dogs arent eating the plants. ill take a trip to the hydro store this weekend and stock up on a few things.

lmao, that is shitty advice. add a bottle to your res.? There are benefits of H2O2 but at the right measurement. I don't use it but I know some people swear by it.

Neem Oil works well for many kinds of pests. And its 100% natural. Check it out. There are pest bombs that can be used with plants in the room but I stay away from them. There's No Pest Strips that work very well but your not suppose to breath it in on a regular basis. I just stick to neem oil.

Honestly i would wait till you find out what the casue is. Why waste your money. if you need to buy something get a chiller 1/10 hp would work for you i would say without seeing the system. I know there not cheap i think i gave 500 for mine. But in my opion you cant do hydro with out these two things a chiller and ph/ppm meter.
