You're talking about a slurry test. That's not what he was talking about. He was saying he sticks his pen in the soil like a soil probe.

Give it a try if you have a pen,Ive just bin using drops.Have to filter it first though to see color.

I've done slurry tests before. The BlueLab soil probe is way easier and more accurate though.

I don't trust soil meters. Soil test is the only for sure way in my opinion.
