Someone invested in my grow: how much ought I give him in return?

Harvest is just around the corner and having put in 150 from a total of 450 spent to get it going, what %age of the grow is a fair share for my associate?

The yield I expect will fall somewhere between 300g and 500g since it's a 600w grow. Based on what I'm drying right now, I'm fairly certain it's on the low side. He intends to sell 3/4 of his share.

All he did was throw in 150 bucks? Nothing else? Personally ,I'd give him $300-$450 worth of weed. $150 bucks is nothing.

I guess it depends on other factors as well, like how much work was put in by both parties and who's place was it at. If you put in more of the work and it was at your place then you should give him triple the dollar amount worth of product of what he put in and nothing more. That would be totally fair. This is something you should have discussed when your associate put in the funds for the grow. Waiting til the last minute to figure out who gets what is not recommended lol.

I would give him 1/4 and next time discuss it first if you value this guys friendship and
would like to buy his silence. 25% But then again I`m kind of dumb.

he INVESTED in 1/3 of your grow 150 out of 450. If you did not get his 1/3 of the money would you be harvesting now? Its up to you.. better to make him happy this time.. and go solo next time.

The real question is what will you give him NEXT harvest. He could argue that 33% of the gear is his, and he's entitled to a cut of every harvest from it.

I would give him half or $300 cash this time (his choice), and tell him he gets nothing in the future.

Before coming up with a percentage. Think real hard on what is fair.
You can look @ it from a friends view or strictly business.
Who is taking the risk, paying the utility bills? Figure all that in.

heres the deal. after your first grow give him his part of the investment back in the gear and dont take no for an answer, also i would give him 35% of the dry weight and tell him your paranoid and you wont be growing anymore. sell the rest and buy your own gear, this way you dont have to pay for his silence.

Whatever you think you should give him add another good fistful and make sure he understands that the "partnership" was for the first round only.
Unfortunately most of the time these things don't get spoken about up front and someone winds up feeling cheated. Remember that now he knows you grow and whoever he told knows you grow so make sure at the end YOU are the one that feels cheated and he feels good about how the whole thing went down. You will have another round soon enough and it will be better anyway.

There is no amount worth the hard lesson you will learn for taking on an associate to begin with. Tell yourself and keep repeating it "Never Again"

You blew the first rule of thumb for a $150 bones! Make him happy, is all I can say!

Rule #1 NEVER TELL ANYONE!

How good of friend is he??? Would he be missed?

Just give him 1/3rd of the total yield even though he doesn't deserve that much. Atleast he will get a good deal and you will have no problems with him ruining your plans for future grows. Atleast next time you can get 100% for yourself

another thing is consider telling him you're not going to grow again, too much hassle or whatever you need to say, that way, you can cut the rope with the guy and not have to worry about him knowing that you are a grower.
There are 2 people on this earth ( other than the Mrs) that I told about what I do and I ended up regretting both of them. One grows as well, but he talks too much because he wants to be "The Man" and thats not my style, and the other is a neice who is now like feeding a stray cat, I can't get rid of her. Both instances, my fault entirely.

Ask him and make sure he is ok with it if you expect to get money from him in the future and next time make the deal up front.

Never, never, never tell people about your grow. This is the most asinine thing..I think I would rather shoot myself then get in your situation

Where is the thread started, Economysleven? Just curious how things are going. I had the same thing happen when I first started indoors.

Be careful with this one. If hes a nice guy he may just take his cut and move on. But if he's not then he could say that you owe him a certain amount from each harvest. Make the agreement clear and as simple as possible.
