I have a bunch of out door girls and they are being eaten my something. I have seen spiders (not mites), ladybugs, a weird small beetle and last but not least the believed culprit small tiny caterpillars. the ones that hang from trees on a line of silk. I'm in BC Canada so if anyone knows what bugs could be doing this let me know. Here is a pic of some damage maybe we can get teeth impressions and find the culprit.DSC_0160.jpg

i was hoping they weren't the issue. What kinds of steps can I use to kill them or keep them away from plants without hurting the plants or using harsh chemicals. thx for ideas.

Well i know this weird but it does work. I do this in my veg garden as well. But if ur growing in buckets or pots u can pee around the area to "mark ur territory" or spread ur hair around after a cut. Other things will work such as good ol neem oil solution.

So the neem oil will work as a preventative measure to keep them from my plants? I thought neem was for bugs that take up residence on my plants like mites. Do I have to spray the plants every day to kill the caterpillars? or does a single spraying make the plants taste horrible to them and they will stay away? Thx for your help. Killer43

I usually spray all over but not thick and in the afternoons aboit 30 mins to sunset. U should be good then. Or u can use vinegar and water the same way

SLUGS, and catirpillars , Just took a look around my grow and found 4 of them just chomping away, I pinched them off and tossed them far away.

I would say one of the best preventive measures is to clear the weeds and foilage around your plants.

One thing i did not do so goo with this year.

I can only blame myself.

But they will be fine, Dont worry about it.

Come early in the morning after a heavy rain, and see if you see whats eating your plants.
