There is nothing wrong with a bit of leaf mutation. Generally they have no affect on the outcome of your plants.

The video was no help, lol. You had no insect problems? I'm getting exactly the same growth .

If you do think pests could be the culprit, try putting petroleum jelly around the rim of the pot. It should deter most bugs from going anywhere near your plant.
