So myself i am super new at this.... but have assisted with previous indoor and outdoor. A fellow friend who grows medically, recomended i come here. So after reading threads for hours, I figured I would ask some probably seemingly stupid questions. I have started an indoor grow....4 sour diesel seeds ( apparently) in soil under 24 light for a few weeks veg. Been about 2 weeks flowering now under 12/12. Planted in soil under cfls. As I was on a tight budget i had 2 cfls going and added 2 more....currently 4 2700k cfl's. I have previously grown with a friend who is medically liscensed so i picked up tips and tricks along the way. My current issue... plants have been under 12/12 for about 2 weeks now....no signs of flowering. After reviewing pics...my friend said possible males....but they looked like they were still in veg. He was stumped. Their in a box in the closet lined with an emergency tent made of foil material....very light reflective, doesnt seem to create alot of heat. Due to budget restraints i just recently added the other 2 cfl's. Checked soil daily to see how dry.....watered strictly with bottled water every couple of days. I just gave it some diluted nutes...8-14-9 was the NPK. The closet and box are all completely blacked out....no light leaks whatsoever even during the day ( i put them to sleep at night just for extra assurance). I read in a few other forums it may have been the lack of light and/or nutrients that could have sent them back into veg. Also first week of flowering there was 2 nights I was 35-40 minutes late shutting my lights off ( i now have a working timer) which I also read could have sent them back to veg. Could all 3 minor issues collaborated to send me back into veg? Yesterday was first full day under all new lights and watered with nutrients for the first time.

I've read through several threads and asked some friends/ fellow green thumbs but none really give assuring answers as to what might be happening. Any info would be GREATLY appreciated. I'm super new at this all by myself and figure the only way to learn is trial and error and advice.

If your growing from seed the plants may take 5-6 before they show sex

less light may cause the plants to take longer before they turn over to flower

some strains take longer to flower than others

don't think its possible for the plants to go back in veg under 12/12 light

I often walk in my room (5mins and turn the light on (a single 8w t5 tube above the plants ) and water the plants, take pics, check for bugs etc at any time of the day and it don't affect the plant in any way

shutting your lights off an hour late makes no diffence in early flower
you can flower most plants under 14 hours of light, growers don't as you get the same results from 12/12

light leak is somthing diffent as direct light could be on part of the plant for hours and it will stress them out

First, Thano you for the info. It definately eases my mind a bit....in hoping their just slow flowering. If they are indeed sour diesel... Ive read their flowering time is 9-10 weeks average and often take a few weeks to show sex. And not enough light at first and no nutrients ...I'm hoping it's all just slow starting.

I think I've covered my bases generally....just need to play the waiting game a bit more.

Once again thankyou. Any and all I found is fantastic and greatly appreciated.

it sounds like you don't have enough light. if you only vegged the plants for two or three weeks, it could take them up to two weeks to show sex under good conditions. with only four CFLs on them and lack of time they've had to mature, you should let them be--well, add more light, but then let them be. @jacksthc is right, that little bit of interruption isn't what the problem is right now and as @cassinfo said, put up some pictures and let's get a look at them.

Here's a few pictures. Not the best but all I got right now. ( their sleeping now)

In a nutshell....germinated....potted....let sprout....then under 24 hr lights for approx 3, maybe 3 1/2...then switched to 12/12. I used MG during veg...NPK was 24-8-16....diluted to 1/4 strength and only used 3 times.....the rest was bottled water. This is what they look like on top and underneath. Lots of healthy green fan leaves.

I don't see any sign if sex yet but be patient I remember like 6 years ago I did a full grow with MG and only a Walmart "grow light" reminded me more of a desk lamp lol I did 30 days veg and it took a while to show sex (3-4 weeks) I harvested like 4 grams dry bud total at the end

I just watered yesterday with nutrients for the first time in flowering. It's shultz african violet bloom liquid concentrate.... NPK 8-14-9. I diluted 1/4 strength. Will work up eventually every 2nd watering. I think i'm just patiently being impatient.

Once again thankyou everyone for the input and info/ advice. It's nice to hear assuring info instead of me freaking out and doing something that could in itself stress/ destroy my garden.

If my plants are indeed behind and take longer to flower due to the strain.... would it stress them to put them outside? I do have an outdoor garden which is doing great. But it's not in close proximity to keep a constant eye on it. Would the risk of stress be low if my indoor are behind in flowering? I know the nothing can compare to natural sun....and it's extremely dark....no street lights or anything... very very minimal natural light... pretty much just the stars and moon. I just don't want to take any action without knowing what the actual pros and cons might be.

pic ending in 228.jpg could be male as it looks like there a little cluster there, but its a little too early to be 100% sure

Putting them outdoors now would not stress them, much. Maybe a day of shock from the Initial change of environment. Just don't go throw them out into the direct sun on a hot day. Start them in the shade for the first few hours, ease them into it.

Sun is the best, and if you are trying to get them into flower, its that time of year. The ones you put out now, if you decide to, will go into flower, like your outdoor ones are doing ATM. Only downside, and I mentioned this earlier ( if you haven't caught on yet, its me :P) is them not being able to finish outdoors. If your already working with a longer flowering strain, and you are putting them out 2-3 weeks into flower season..I doubt they will be ready before the cold/mold eats them away. Ideal would be to put em out now, and wait as long as you can, then finish indoors if you have the room. Just my opinion though. ;)
