Sour diesel

I believe that's supposed to be Albany, it was the cut that came from upstate NY near, Albany afaik
Hahah damn it, I googled to make sure I spelled Chaco right and missed right there.
ECSD is the real deal sour d she is just old and tired. I hear there is a healthier version tho. Never have AJ's or any of the others. Did have a killer keeper from some Reserva Privada SD but that was before they changed it up...

I got a (loompas headband x "mass super skunk x stardawg") x sour d ibl from that stonefarms male thats replaced my ecsd...

@jimihendrix1
That double dose diesel from katsu is prolly the one
I have pack of the double otw as well. Katsu is suppose to do another drop of the Stoney Sour Diesel Male by the end of the year.
@shorelineOG 's ECSD cut is supposed to test 30% and people have said it resembles the Chaco cut. I have been real happy with the Sour D BX and also ECSD crosses he made.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a negative Shoreline review.

@GrownAtHighAltitude you’ve grown the one from Cloney? Idk if dude is legit or not but I see him around the place and I always get the “Kenny Powers- You should see my cookouts” feels whenever he talks about back in the day. Cracks me up.

Your Albany came from cloney?
Yes, a friend got it from Cloney and gifted it to me.

Cloney doesn’t refer to the cut as the Albany but he lives around there and that’s where the sour came from. I met up with him a month or so ago to swap some cuttings and we hung out and I can say he seems very genuine and into it. We burned and shot the shit on weed for a few hours. He has a really nice Haley’s Comet Piff plant I really like.

Anyway, Cloney is cool in my book and I had sour a lot back in 2002-2009. I was very familiar and when I saw his bud shots pics I immediately recognized it.

Getting it to throw like it once did is another story. It’s hard to get the expression right. I’ve had better results with salts, but it’s not what I remember it being. Hoping as my skill improves I can do better with it. This was my third try and each times it comes out a little better.

Nice. Yeah, don’t know dude. I’m sure he’s alright. People always talk to bud on discord and I’m saying every time he’s like,… “So I was smashing this rockstars daughter. Wouldn’t you know it, she gave me the Diesel.” (I’m paraphrasing) Bud looks very nice for sure.

ECSD and SD are two different plants, SD came first
Ecsd and sd are the same strain, supposedly rez gave it the name east coast to differentiate it from another strain going around on the west coast during the time. The original sour diesel is and always was from the north east coast and both are the same strain. Don't remember if it was aj or topdawg who confirmed this for me on IG.

If you've smoked both of them; they are DEFINITELY different than one another.

JUST like NYC Diesel and Sour Diesel are two different strains.

And Sour Diesel is basically the name of multiple strains now: but there's only ONE real deal; and the ECSD is not the one.

With that being said; I love ECSD too.

This is what it says on topdawgs profile from facebook under the sour diesel section, check it out, lists it as the same strain.

I too have smoked variations of the diesel. The strain that struck out to me the most was the variation that was named at the time back in 2007 was the ECSD. Either way I go by what topdawg says and he says its the same strain.

Got ya.

Still; they are different strains lol.

Rez did not give it a different name....in fact; rez always shit on ecsd for being a knockoff of his sour; which at the time was the closest to the real deal sour in seed form.

Ask anyone in NYC area if ecsd is the real deal sour; they'll 100% say no.

I live in jersey and we have dispensaries that sell ecsd....the majority of ppl here don't like it; because they expected sour d and ecsd is not it.

The real deal sour is extremely hard to find nowadays; but it DOES still exist....in the last 10 years I've come across it only 3 times....that's how rare it is now.

Ecsd I can buy every single day; thats how easy it is to find ecsd.

Nobody would be searching for sour diesel if the ecsd was it

Albany Original Diesel is pretty bad-ass as far as Sours go. It has a lot of diesel fuel, burned tennis ball, skunk funk and something else I can't quite put my finger on that makes me think that grown properly, it is a strong candidate for Sour. At least one that a not so small group of people in New York state enjoyed for years and still for decades now.

Cloney Soprano detailed on the (now deleted) Cut Hut Discord where he got that cut and the guy is still mono-cropping it to this day. The story was pretty legit and this cut grows on me each year I work harder at growing it correctly. It is definitely not an outdoor high-altitude variety, though it will finish, it won't be as good as it can be inside. It's become one of my favorite jars now, and I honestly can't tell if I like that or Chem 91 better overall. They are both related, of course, but the Albany just adds this extra skunk dimension that is excellent.

So here is my thinking please correct me if I’m wrong, this thread is from 2007:
Now this is one of the earliest thread covering the lineage. There are links to older ones but the info stays the same. Now here is my train of thought. JJNYC uses the AJ cut in his work. I’m sure there isn’t many strains JJNYC couldn’t get, yet he decided to work with the AJ. If he wanted something else dude could’ve gotten it. I recently just got the AJ that came from GMO. GMO has 2 Stardawg phenos. I’ve done my research and I can say they are legit. That’s all I can say, it’s not my info to expand on just to be clear. Getting to the point it makes me confident GMO has the real AJ cut. I’m no diesel expert though. Just the conclusions from my own research.

In seed form (What I’d consider their lines or versions of SD. Not crosses) my list is the following breeders with current stock:
Karma (Rez), Top Dawg (AJ), Katsu/Stoney (Rez/OD or AJ?), Shoreline (ECSD), Piffcoast, Aficianado (Sacred/Alderpoint), Genetic Supply/NorStar (WCSD/ECSD), Bodhi (Chaco), old school genetics (Riri).

Old stock breeders, only useable if one can find old stock from what I understand. Their new stock I’d place on avoid (Current/New stock reports are buns):
DNA, Cali Connection, Nirvana, Rezivoir.

Avoid:
Greenthumb.

I hope someone can expand on this, I planned on going more but I’m beat, might be some more mistakes.
