The Pea Patch has been over-run with "Egyptian Okra". It's terrible! I'm hoping to smoke them out later on. Most is home bred Afghan/Master Kush & Cali Orange Bud/Master Kush. There's a few Easy Sativa, Danky Doddle & THC Bomb here & there. Third pic is a 2ND harvested, rejuive Cali Orange Bud. So far so good.

Blazing sun, yes. Had to move them to partial shade. They are still young. In 30 plus days, they should be well on their way.

Looking good. Late afternoon sun in South Texas is a motherfucker! Even a hardy plant such as cannabis can get heat stressed. You are wise to shade them.

A hard & fast lesson I had to learn was the fucking black Nursery containers absorb the heat, hot to the touch on the sunshine side of the container. It bakes the moisture out of the soil. Next time, I'm going to get some of that 1/4 inch thick sterophone wrapping sheets and insolate the inside of the container. Also, cut down on the big drainage holes in these type of containers. Too much drainage is almost as bad as not enough drainage. Most of the plants love the hot sun, but the Easy Sativa does not. Live & Learn.

Johnny,... excellent question. In Oct. of 07, I started my outdoor grow plan. Ordering seeds, finding the right place, etc. The goal was 70 to 100 females. The pics shown is just a partial of what is growing. The "proper" way to go is to plant in-ground. I would love to do so. Each plant needs a 2 Ft. X 2 Ft. X 3 Ft. hole dug..... , it would take a Back-Hoe to do the work. I did have access to a back-hoe. but didn't fell comfortable asking a smoking Friend to dig shit where I wanted to grow. There isn't any way I could dig into this shit, especially 70 to 100 times, thus the stupid-ass pots. As a reference as to the situation here, biggest drought since the 50's. Thus far, 80 gals. per every 2 days.

In reality, the question was not mine. That honor belongs to redking11, the Weed Baron.

There are many reasons to choose containers, yours is a pretty good one.

Good luck!

The Breeders/ I like KC Brains the best, for the Seed Banks, I like either Marijuana Seeds NL or The Attitude for shipping. I've had the soft ball size buds & the big plants with lots of smaller buds. I'll take the big plants/big yield any day.The Easy Sativa does good, but it didn't show sex until it was 5'tall. I would early sex them prior to planting outdoors. Lots of compost & a little shade is not bad.

Now is the time for buying shit to mix up. A few bucks here, there, etc. I can get a pickup truck load of mushroom compost for $20 bucks. I also ordered 2 Lbs. of Red Wiggle Worms last Spring, put them in a 5' diameter plastic Kiddie Pool. The cows come to look for dog food, and make an Ariel drop, to give the worms a shit eating grin. Another Kiddie Pool is for mixing the shit up. I goes something like this.
60% Mushroom Compost. From that point, depends upon how explosive I dare to be. In the Kiddie Pool, a couple bags of good organic compost from the local Nursery, never from a box store. A couple bags of Lady Bug Rejuvenate Potting soil, couple cups of green sand, 2 cup of whole ground corn meal, 1 cup of Epsom Salt, 4 shovels of cow manure infested with worms & 2 bags of perlite, 1 bag of vermiculite. That's the dry mix, now to get it moist. (Rabbit shit is wonderful, if you can find a grower.) Put on the Cajun Music, and make up 2 gals. of molasses, 2 TBS per gal, Liquid Seaweed, 2 gal. mixture, and 2 gals. of fish emulsion. Adjust moisture level with good well water. Use a garden rake, mix until 4 beers is drank, pissing in the soil as you mix your ass off. 2 Oz's. per gal is good. Mix til' you puke, then mix again tomarrow. This shit will spout metal Tee-Post, so,.. don't fall in. This mixture is for the top 40% of the actual soil used. The bottom 60% is straight compost. In the meantime, collect Praying Mantis & light green spiders w/ black strips. They will protect your plants. Lady Bugs is good also. Sheets or cubes of rockwool mixed in would be cool.
With this soil, water/fert once per week with molasses, emulsion (For veg) & seaweed. Also spray plants with seaweed once per week for spider mites. I believe that's about it.

light green w/black stripes? How big are these guys? As you know, spiders outnumber pretty much everything in the hill country! I've got great numbers of mantis here too. Sure you don't mean the green spider w/white stripes? I better go out and open my eyes a bit more.

The choppers in the area and weed poachers keep me inside mostly anyway...It's so hard not to want to use the powerful Texas sun though. Hell, I moved here so I could grow Sativa's outside!

I've thrown plenty a mantis and ladybugs in my closet..i guess the spiders are safe for now:hump:
