Space Buckets Journal

Howdy growers! I'm back with updates on my Space Buckets (check out the website for a DIY guide ).

I've started a another cycle and I've improved a bunch of stuff, so I thought I'd make a new thread. I'll keep all my plants on this one from now on.

I've installed a glass heat shield for the top part of the bucket, separating the bulbs and the plant entirely. It is a sort of cooltube-bucket, it features a 6mm glass, two 220v fans and about 130w of CFL (4 bulbs).

I'm also building these light-spacers, that are stacked to the main bucket once the plant gains height. This is the top part of a bucket fitted with 2 meters of 5050SMD LEDs, about 100 chips total.
I use two 12v 1A supplies to power the strips.





Lastly! I've started a fresh bucket with a Boss Hogg, now 5 days from seed. I'll keep updating with the plants progress, I'm testing the glass shield for the first time.

Here is a GIF of Boss Hogg growing for the first week of veg:



The plant is looking more rough now, it had a mite attack and a nute mishap. Hopefully it'll pull through! I'll be planting new ones soon.

Your .Gif making skill are better than your diy skills, that bucket is great for germing, or burning down your mom's house, allow the local fireman to decide ...lol still nice gif!

Howdy fellow growers! Vostok, the buckets are perfectly safe, there is no fire hazard. Here is another update.

This is Boss Hogg at about 3 weeks of bucket-veg.



And this is a new plant! Bagseed, a few days old.

Here is Boss Hogg at day 21F. Gave her a Neem bath yesterday, saw some mites. Plant is living in a bucket with 130w of CFL and 2 meters of 5050SMD LEDs.
