Each comes with a precision machined triangle collector to scrape the crystals from the bottom. The triangle is specifically designed to fit the edge perfectly. The top point of the triangle fits the large units, the right point fits the medium, and the left point fits the small. It can be stored in the mid section as well to assist in the separation of the crystals.
The Space Case is made up of four separate parts that work together. The lid fits onto the grinder with the assistance of neodymium magnets, keeping the lid firmly in place but allowing for the grinding movement. Space Case uses a special nylon gasket around the edge to assure smooth grinding and no metal on metal contact.
The ground spices can be retrieved in the second section of the grinder. Many holes cut very close together allow the ground material to fall through without getting caught up.
The third section allows only the finest particles imaginable to fall through the steel mesh, keeping the ground spices separated in the second section.
Space Case also features seamed edges. This process requires each unit to be individually machined from a single piece of aluminum, but makes the seams invisible and the turning movement as smooth as glass.
Tips for use:
The grinder/sifter is used to both grind your herb, and collect the potent crystals that fall through the screen. After grinding, you may shake the Space Case to noticeably speed up the accumulation of crystals and increase the amount accumulated in the bottom section. Freezing your herb for 30 minutes before grinding also assists crystal separation and increases accumulation.
If you prefer not to separate the crystals, just don't shake the case after grinding. Simply pour the ground material into your favorite
airtight stash container or leave it stored in the Space Case.
The
PRESS is an added accessory used to compact the collected material at the bottom.
Cleaning:
You can clean your Space Case with dishsoap and hot water, or you may use rubbing alcohol.
