Space issues 2x2x4 tent

Hi I'm new here and new to growing I got this 2x2x4' tent for free from a friend of mine and set it up right away. At this point I have a sprouted seed, am more or less maintaining a reasonable grow environment and am feel optimistic. That is until I went to adjust my light and realized that the lights hanging wires are too long and i wont be able to keep my light 24" from my plants. I feel pretty defeated but I'm determined to figure this out and have a successful grow so i need some help.

Thought off the top of my head is substitute the hanging wires for string if possible. That way you can adjust the height all you want.

I had the same tent. I rigged something up and got about 8 more inches. Now I grow in a spare bedroom closet. You can double the wires over on top the light and get 3-5 inches. Then I cut and placed a board across the top and through the inside screwed two hooks from homedepot into the board placed the doubled over wires directly to the hook . I still double the wires in my closet to get a few more inches.(Pic 3) pic 4 all my wires are doubled over.

I started just like you. Look with that light I wouldn't be super critical about 24 inches. I was at first, but soon found out my plants were happy to be closer to an inexpensive light. If they're autos you'll probably be ok.

What Longs is saying could be true.

If it's an inexpensive light it's probably not putting out high intensity to begin with. Not sure if it's dimmable but you may want it closer at this growth stage like 24-30 inch. You'll want that room for headspace when/if they grow relatively tall though.

Good thought Longs, is this an auto or photo? Hopefully it's a photo because transplanting an auto isn't ideal at all.

True with an auto you wanna start in the final pot as I've never transplanted one. But photos could easily outgrow that tent. Depending on training variables.

Wish this site had free shipping options amongst members, I'd send you an unboxed tent i haven't even opened and now don't plan to. Too late for me to send back.:cuss:

Depending how much blue and what kind of blue is in the light, stretch should be minimal in veg. And depending on genetics.. hopefully you got something indica leaning that will stay on the short side. Especially if you keep the plants in a smaller pot and flip them after a short veg.
