I'm not very LED literate, but the specs seem pretty similar to a HLG 650r. The light costs $680, which is about half the price of their previous top of the line models. What do you all think?

....

Spectrum King’s Phoenix 680W is the new LED standard for 1:1 1000W DE HPS replacements, using 36% less power while delivering the highest reliability in the industry.

SK Cryo-Therm cooling technology enables an ultra slim form factor, allowing for maximum airflow and minimizing micro-climates. Optimized for single or multi-tier cultivation in proximity to the canopy.

The SK Phoenix 680W sets a new benchmark for the LED lighting industry.

I will say they build quality lights. I'm still using 4 SK600s. Two are about 6 years old, the other two are about 5. One has been retired to a veg light, but only because I wanted to try the HLG.

Oh, I see what you mean. The other lights have a "Made in the USA" logo. Hmm. That's pretty suspicious, and sneaky if they started outsourcing the labor.

Regardless, they look like decent lights for a decent price. I don't know enough about LED specs to draw a solid opinion though.

Hi there, how do you see these stack up against the Gavita 1700E? I'm torn between the two. On one hand, Gavitas are great and are known company. Another hand, they can get pricy and all. Phoenix 680W have slightly better specs but are hella cheaper especially when you are looking to purchase more than 20 LED's. Any recommendations on which way to go?

If I had to choose I'd go with the Spectrum King lights. They were one of, if not the first high powered full spectrum true watt led companies. They were making them for many years before Gavita finally threw their hat into the led ring.
