Spider mites outdoor

Started growing last winter indoors with seeds that i ordered. Never had any spider mite issues. This summer i decided to try outdoor which went well other than the spider mites. Every plant which was in 3 separate locations on my property all got spider mites. The couple plants i had in my veggie garden spread mites to my other vegetables and pretty much took over everything. Ive never seen mites in my garden before. Why now? Is weed just that irresistable to mites? As i said, this was all from seed so the mites came from my property, not the plants. Just seems odd that they never went after my garden before

A simple IPM plan, like rotating sulfur/ permethrin/ horticultural oils till flower will keep them manageable.
Use marigolds as a monitor crop around the border, they love them even more than weed.
