Spider Mites Under Microscope?

Hello guys! I have spider mites and I have cured twice, once with plain water and second with dish soap + SMC Oil, I checked my plants leaves under and top for spider mites with microscope 100x but no sign of any... I'm not sure I'm doing something wrong or there needs to be microscope bigger res. then 100x? All i see is kind of eggs type circles which I guess are already formed non-tch crystals which i spotted on healthy plants too!

So please tell me if 100x m-scope is good enough to see s-mites crawling?

100X is plenty to not only see the mites but to identify the species. I can tell under my microscope at 100X (10X occular plus 10X objective) that I have two-spot spider mites. The problem with that level of magnification is that it's difficult to find them because you are looking at such a small space. I'm planning to get a 4X objective lens, so I can zoom out a little bit (40X) to find the suckers. Good luck with the mites. They're a bitch to eradicate.

you should be able to see the mites with bare eyes. if you have 20 20 vision. I know I can. just see the little bugs, and under a 30 or 60 x can see them closer up. even if you don't see any mites after you spray, you need to keep on spraying for a min of 2 weeks, because those eggs will keep on hatching. you need some bug preventer just water wont do it, it will slow them down . but the eggs will keep on hatching. get some neem oil or fish oil,

You can't miss those little bastards when magnified...they look like an extra from the re-make of King Kong.

While it is possible that you have mites, I would be surprised if the spots in those pics were caused by them. Spider mites leave tiny specs (smaller than the mites themselves) of white or yellow on the leaves as they suck the life out of individual plant cells one at a time, and the specs tend to be evenly distributed across the leaf. They don't cause patches of yellow like the ones in your pics. Here is an image of two mite-damaged leaves. The leaf on the right was in the early stages of attack, and the one on the left is after a couple of weeks with the little bastards. Looks sort of like it was lightly salted.



Plain water alone does a great job of removing adult mites, but it doesn't seem to remove the eggs. I blasted my plants with water when I first noticed mites, and I didn't see them again for at least a week (probably when the eggs started hatching).

Thank you FNG! I have actually figured out and made sure now that those are not mites but i made a mistake using MH 400w Lights under seedlings too close that burned then, plus false spider mites infestation, water - soap - oil, totally burned them. :/ Done more damage for nothing :/

OK...I've said it before and I'll say it again QUIT SPRAYING YOUR PLANTS WITH BULLSHIT!!!!! Now, let's all smoke a fattyand try some Neem Oil...DO NOT SPRAY...but mix as directed AND WATER them with it...once every week, you can water them with it plain or mix with your nutes....it works from the inside of the plant to deter ANY damaging insect that may enter your garden...I use it all the time in my https://www.rollitup.org/organics/539844-subs-supersoil.html mix, it's organic and won't hurt your plant what so ever, mine love it...take a look for yourself..

EDIT: If you have mites already, then yes spray...but I use it as a preventitive and it works great and it's inexpensive...THIS IS JUST MY OPINION...good luck all...

I freaked out about the same thing. Microscopic milky orbs. I think it is either the beginnings of trics or maybe even "sweat". Look into your ph and magnesium deficiency too. Good luck.

spidermites are really not that difficult to eradicate. spray abamectin once, maybe twice and enjoy a spidermite free growing experience.

or keep messing with subpar concoctions and remedies.

neem oil .... its you're best friend !

kills everything .. spider mites + mold + pm ect ect + gives you're babys a wicked healthy look every times you spray !

its best to apply it with a fogger since the fog is going to go everywhere + you dont have to shoot under the leafs , it simply goes every where with the fog

i use azaneem witch is neem oil + neem its more organic since its a plant oil extract there for you're girls are going to loooove it !

i used to have a huuuuuge spidermite infestation ! all gone + more importantly never came back ! , even if i dont see them or there simply isint i still spray them on my clones just in case + it gives a type of vitamin to the plan and seems to help it grow !

trust me you will sleep with a bottle in you're hands its so good ! ( ps even if you dont see some i would suggest shooting neem oil 30 days before cuting down just in case youre not lucky , it takes 30 days to the plan to auto-detox its self so you'll be left with a clean smooth burning bud

edit :

if you did shoot neem oil 30 days before cuting down and let say at 1-2 weeks before cutting you have a hugee infestation .. dont worry you're almost cuthing

what i did in that situation is foliar spray Very cold water every morning when the lights comes on ... thats it ! wont mold cuz the lights will dry it out if less then 30 min
