Split Type Aircon Maintenance (Security question?)

The weakest point of my setup's security is having a split type aircon which needs to be cleaned/serviced every 6 months. I am not in a legal state. What is the best way to mitigate this?

When I had the aircon installed in my 4x4 storage, I told the installer it was for a wine cellar. Now I am nearing 6 months and will need to have the aircon serviced by any technician (or learn to do it myself?) soon.

I think it's not easy, it is worrying me. Short of taking down all or most of the equipment in the room (drivers, lights, light hangers, co2 controller, etc......all kinds of stuff).

Thoughts?

you can do it by yourself
is the unit working fine ?
and do you periodically clean your filters ? if yes your evaporator must be clean

Like @kingromano said. Your unit is 6 months old? So if you kept up on the filters , coil should be in good shape. Keep up on the filters and get a shop vacuum. Suck out the drain every month and you should be ok. What type of unit is it? Ductless mini split?

Thanks for advice guys. I think I can learn how to do this myself. I will keep up on the filters and try to find a way to suck out the drain as suggested. Yes ductless mini split. I read that they normally need service every 6 months to 1 year.

Even if I keep up on the above, still at some point I will need a professional to come in and make some adjustment such as adding refrigerant and/or deep clean or whatever at some points? Deep clean maybe I can do myself by looking at the manual and following directions.... not easy for beginner but not too hard either I think.... just concerned that at some point I will need a professional to come in. Or maybe not?

if you can label stuff VERY well you can definitely deep clean. if I have no idea what I'm doing and am deep cleaning any machine I just completely dis and reassemble.
the 6 months to a year is not quite a scam but it's just to keep the performance at 99%. youtube it, I build houses for a living and I solve 95% of my problems that way. most of them having to do with werid things like hvac that I have to act smart in. I'm sure someone will show you some regular maintenance.

Worse comes to worse I'll just use a air compressor or a blower remove all the dust and relube everything

Right on man, I've watched many youtube videos on how to clean the a/c yesterday. You're right, basically we have to dissasemble half the machine, clean the parts and then re-assemble. Along with clearing the drain line too, using a blower. When I bring in a team to clean the bedroom ones I will watch them carefully to gain more learning. I've just read that things like a freon top up might be never required or after 10+ years unless there is some abnormal leak or defect.

As for sucking the the drain line to clear it, I am not sure because the line is in a casing and and connects to other drain pipes. So a bit hard to do. But I think can be done every couple years. Monthly not needed. Judging from the filters I think it wont get clogged for some years!

man
you have your ac since 6month
you have nothing to disassemble
just clean the filter, tighten the screws on the terminal blocks, if you want pour diluted bleach in the condensate line to clean it and that's all
if your AC was in a kitchen sucking air full of cooking fat we could discuss about cleaning the evaporator, but n a grow room the AC's stay clean

Yes, you can do it by yourself, but it would take more time than you think. Do not be afraid of calling these guys waychoffsac.com
The aircon needs a regular check, in the summer days more often than usual. One week ago, I called them to clean the dirty filters. Because of dirty filters, my ac was blowing heat air instead of cool. They would do it for you, quickly and for a reasonable price. But, if you want to do it by yourself, make sure you are reading the instructions step by step, not to worsen the situation.
