SprayPainted my pots?!?!!? any potential problems?

Last time I grew a mate came over who has considerable expertise in the growing area.

He spotted that I had see through pots and the roots had all crept to the edge of the pots which he said was pretty bloody un good.

So to solve this problem I got my spray paints out and gave the pots a pretty sexy make-over, they look pretty sick now and are no longer see through, but!!! just started to worry that maybe spray painted pots might transfer some kind of spraypaint nasties into the soil????

might just be being paranoid but put my mind at ease if you can ;-)

Hey yea I've done a similar thing - for some reason I could only get hold of translucent pots for a while and I knew the roots shouldnt be exposed to sunlight so sprayed em good and proper with paint but now am also considering the possibility that that could potentially be bad for soil....!!!?? Got some "normal" pots now though so I can carry on with the grow with a peaceful mind :-D

Looking forward to seeing whether anyone else has experience with this as I might as well use the pots if I can...

Peace

Lol

I read it to fast an thought it said you spray painted your pot.

dam im high.
I've heard some weird stuff, but THAT might make the buds taste bad.

I believe the bad stuff in spray paint is very volatile, and goes away very quickly.

I wouldn't worry about it.

im in the same boat as you as i just stol.. err, borrowed some bucket liners from work and they too are clear, and i was thinking of spray painting them as well.. i am pretty sure that i have read in many magazines before that it is perfectly safe to do what you did.. so long as you kept the paint to the outside of your buckets and nothing got inside of them, you should be golden..

,nd thanks to to veggie gardener too.

I did think that it would be ok, i didnt spray paint the inside of the pots, and i washed them pretty thoroughly before using them, kept on sniffing them until that ponging fresh spray paint smell went away.

no worries reggae my man, we're in the same boat, looking forward to hearing how your spraypainted potted babies do :-)
