Hey man, I agree with you 100%. Almost everything I catch is released and I fish probably 5 times more than anyone on this thread. Just making a joke.

I usually release most of the freshwater fish except for Rainbows, Brookies or the occasional Walleye. They taste soooo goood.

This practice is called eat and release. LOL

i dunno i hate lobster, have tried it numerous times thinking maybe i will like it and never do. dont like shellfish period, no crab or clams. dont care for most seafood to be honest.

i have had stiped bass and it was good and i have had it and it was horrible so i guess its all on who/how it is cooked.

but i love fishing, usually catch and release though as i have no desire to eat any of it, if i catch a good trout i give it to the grandparent in laws the 90 year old man loves the shit, he guts it and throws it in the pan, head and all and just peels the meat off the bones with a fork.
I find with stripers you have to eat them the same night as caught or they get real fishy. On the grill with a little mayo on top and some lemon pepper.

i have heard about using mayo but always thought it was kinda...bleh. might have to try it sometime just to see what all the hype is about.

heres around a 30 pound blue cat i caught last year...
i bought a red tail catfish for my aquarium once (its a south american catfish) thing grew like a inch a week, ate all my other fish and ended up in my pool where it lived untill it was about the size of the smaller fish (compared to ^^^^ this one) you posed on last page.

Damn! That thing would eat a foo foo dog no problem! I made the mistake of putting a catfish in my fish take only for a few weeks. I'd hear all this commotion at night with lights out. Next morning 1 less fish and a fatter catfish! True story. Ended up putting him back in the pond I caught him out of.

Cool! He's begging just like a dog. I had a shovelnosed catfish once and went to transplant him from a 55gl to a 125gl and he stuck me with one of his side barbs. My finger swelled up double normal size. It hurt for months. They are not hand shy when it comes to food. I used to have 7 fresh water tanks going. Got to be alot of work and money. Mostly big boys, oscars, wolfish,Florida gar, even an Egyptian snakehead. He got to be 20in long. Snapped my gar in half. Those are some mean fish. He would even eat mice. Had him in a 250gl tank. Used to buy 100 shiners a week to feed them all!

I wouldnt mind setting up a nice 200 gal catfish tank, they get huge and are really fun to watch.
