Springtails, Fungus Gnats. Help (Diatomaceous Earth )

Okay, I have seen Fungus Gnats Flying around, I have found the larvae (maggot like worm) So i treated with Gnatrol. For 2 months, I Have had clones ( aeroponic cloner) straight to coco, Wilt and die within days after transplant. I could not figure it out. I found the bugs in the coco. I poured a container onto a tray and started sifting it around. There are quite a few of the jumping silver like bugs which im pretty sure are springtails. I found one Spider looking bug that almost looked like a spider mite but almost positive its not it was deep in the coco. I have Hotshots all around grow rooms, and they are fresh and usually DESTROY Spider mites if they are anywhere around.

But anyways Off subject, I am almost 100% positive Fungus Gnats and Springtails are floating around in my coco.

Can i mix this stuff into the coco batches i have pre mixed for transplanting, as well as layer the top of the containers with this stuff ?

Could really use some help whatever is happening in the coco is destroying my clones within days.

5.8 PH , 300ppm for clones going into coco depending on ferts ( GH, Dyna,Flora), temps around 78-82F.

I have never had issues with clones to coco before. This started happening about 2 months ago. I started a new Batch of Coco from Blocks stored in garage.
I soaked in hot water like normal. Rinsed with RO water till they where down to 150-275ppm. Added Cal Mag till run Off was around 200-300 ppm.

Then mixed normal Ferts 300ppm for Clones. 600 for Veg 800-1000 for Moms/or Flowering.


So thats all the info, Can i mix Diatomaceous Earth into coco ??

I was going to say drop half a mosquito dunk (or less) in your water before you soak your coco?
2 feedings of my plant with a bit of 'Mosquito Dunk' soaked over 24h and it cleared up my infestation.
It seems to stop the reproduction of the larvae.
The older gnats will still have to go through their life cycle though.. I used a top soil (organic of course) bug killer that I slightly diluted.

Just a suggestion from my own fungal gnat problemo =]

I have used the dunks before a long long time ago, i broke them into peices, will this work the same already broke up into peices ?

hey there, so if you top dress your pots with DE, when you water the stuff becomes like concrete, super hard top soil after that. I know this because I did this during the last round of flower. I have since just sprinkled around the drip trays, etc. maybe somebody with more experience can jump in here. I have read that people have treated their plants with a sprinkling of DE but have no experience with that. Good luck.
