whats going on GS? glad you stopped by.. hope you stick around for the entire grow..
yea i worked them out.. and then, like i said, woke up to my exhaust duct on the ground.. temps werent too bad.. it doesnt get worse than 90F... but still.. it was down to 75F.. oh well... itll get fixed for good here soon...
also i think i am going to invest in a water chiller... i figure it cant hurt.. and if the ambient air temp gets up i dont want the res water to get to much warmer than it already is.. i mean.. its hotter than i want already.. and just to cover my ass i think its worth me investing in a chiller..

those babies are pricey! u could probably soar in2 the low 90's with the chiller with out adverse affects..

the one i am lookin at is about 375... costly yea.. but with temps getting up i dont want the water to get to that temp.. if my water in my res gets to hot.. well then im just fucked... but thats the idea.. i can run a warmer room temp if the chiller is on the res... thats the main reason i want to keep the room temp cool anyways...
that will just add more to my overall cost tho.. i mean.. when i get the flower room up and going i have to get another ebb and gro system ($600) plus another chiller plus the lights and fans and other shit... oh well... i just need to get at least what i got this last grow.. so im not worried.. but all i hear are cash registers ringing in my ears
the chiller is self contained.. so i dont think it should raise the humidity.. but if it does i have a dehumidifier already.. needed it when i had my basement grow... i can always just throw that in the new grow room if needed...
oh.. BTW.. anyone want an ozone5000 machine for cheap?? it will clean the air up to 5000 cubic feet... i just have one and im not using it.. have an extra bulb for it too..

fuck ya.. it was BAD down there.. i had to dump it every day or two... and that was on 1/2 power... i hope i dont need it.. if i could get rid of my a/c and dehumidifier and put that money into my pocket or towards the new setup that would be great!

so i went up to check and the temps went back down.. well they are starting too at least.. it will take a little longer.. but they are almost where i want them again..
i took some pics of the girls just to show you where im at... compared to the first pics there isnt much difference tho... i trimmed off some dead leaves and replanted a couple of the blueberries down further.. the rockwool cubes werent getting moist except at the bottom... so i pulled the hydroton out and put them down to the water line.. which i can now see slightly inside the buckets if i dig far enough down... i am pretty sure thats why the blue berries are so small right now.. they are struggling to get to the nutes... everything else seems to be out of shock and ready to go...
the first 3 pics are of the chemdogs.. you can see the yellowish new growth... pretty sure its fine.. i just think the they are growing rapidly as most of the new growth has taken place over the last couple days...
the next couple pics are of a couple of the OG kush clones.. you can see on the stem where the new growth is starting and branches will be pushing out.. i am going to super crop these next week for the first time assuming they grow good over the next 7 days...
there is a pic of the white shark which is doing great.. i think i got lucky when i put it down and its getting plenty of water and nutes.. she seems to be blowing up now... enormous growth the last 48 hours... very happy..
and the last few are of the blueberrys.. as i said they werent getting enough water so i planted them deeper.. hence why a couple of them look like that are layin neck deep in hydroton..
i also took a pic of how the exhaust system is running now and why i am having a bitch of a time with heat... i had the piece of duct cut already and didnt want to cut another off the rest of the 40ft line i had.. and it just reaches where it is going.. the 90 degree bend cuts the efficiency WAY down... plus its just a long run... after the new lights are set up it wont be near as fucked.. its just an intermitant thing right now...
anyways.. since growth has started and its enough i can show i will do frequent updates.. and again ill be adding lights and doing some construction so that means more pics...
oh.. and let me know what you think of the clone yellowing stuff going on... just need some other opinions..

looking goodbro. welli just pick me up a 1000wtt hps ballast, bulb,and a 4ft reflector for $100 bucks. i have been trying this phone # for a coupleweeks now,gave up on it a week ago. just came acrossthe # again 2day and called and lord behold i got an awnser. she told me on the phone the price and what was there. when i gat there she had two of each setting there, my dick started crawling down my leg.......LOL i thought i was getting both setups for $100 bucks. NOT $100 each.. soi bought one. im so stoked, ima gona gosetup now....

no not yet.. i figure if no of you want it, or at least someone doesnt come along and hit me up for it, ill just throw it on ebay or something.. it works good.. kills mold and mildew and fungus spores... basically starilizes the air.. thing is you have to run it for 30 and leave it off for 30... thats the "shelf life" of the ozone.. and ozone can be bad if you dont let the air balance out in the grow room... it works grea though.. the bulb i have still has some 15000 hours of life or something and like i said i got a replacement bulb... if you interested lets talk! i also have 4 kinda of guano in the 50lb buckets or whatever they are if anyone wants to pick up that also?? peruvian, jamaican, mexican, and indonesian... just let me know bro... we can figure out the details if you want!! again it works for up to a 5000 sq/ft area...
wont be too long before they are not heat stressed tho.. and really they arent heat stressed... they look, for the most part, fine.. the dead leaf areas were already like that when i got the clones... they just ended up dieing the rest of the way.. and i can see new growth.. the room temp just bothers me more because of the resevoir temps.. i want to keep my nute solution at like 65 to 70.. and its more like 80/85 right now.. and that is just NO good... no good at all..
i have plenty of air movement.. and plenty of fresh air pouring in.. just need a damn water chiller for the res!.. i think, since that chiller will end up putting off so much heat, i may just put the chiller outside of the grow room and run the tubing to it.. it would really only end up being about 3 to 5 ft of tubing i would have to run through the wall... so its not that far...
the chiller itself is rated for a res up to 132 gallons.. so im almost 1/3 of the rated res size.. so i should be able to easily maintain a 65 to 70 degree res temp.. plus that means if something goes wrong and i can get temps down to where i want i still have my ass covered for the summer... during the winter i wont have the issue at all.. but damn.. its hot as fuck already here.. im talking in the mid 90s... and either humid enough to swim.. or so dry you dont sweat... no happy medium.. so its definatly added a challenge to things...
thats good shit bro.. i dont know why my dumbass partner got such a small a/c... he is such a cheap ass... i mean some things are ok to skimp on.. but he trys to do it to everything!! i told him heat would be an issue, as i have no a/c in my house... told him to get the biggest a/c he could get... and he instead gets me "my first a/c".. i swear there are bigger a/cs that come in barbie play houses...

morning samy. well so far my fans came on be4 my lights thats a good thing. i was not here last night when the room shut down and when i got home i did notice that my fans timer was not set correctly and they went off a bit be4 the light did. buds got a little cricpybut they willbe just fine...

glad to hear everything is running smoothly on your side... easy fix with the timer situation... but thats almost perfect timing to have the lights pop on 8 minutes after the fan... very nice indeed.. i am pretty sure all my fans will be going all the time.. and the lights will be the only thing on timers... pretty sure at least... until winter comes.. and i need to turn the fan off during the 12 hours of dark... dont want to suck in 30 degree air for 12 hours with no heat at all.. lol

i here ya. im at 45 degress at night out side. stays 62 degress in the room when lights and fans off. going to make a viveo of the new light and how im running a 110timer with 220 volts running threw them..... its pretty cool setup bro...

LOL god i wish i could only have the outside environment you have.. nights are 65 to 70 right now.. hell i have had my windows open and sleeping coverless for the last 2 weeks already.. its just TO DAMN HOT for this early in the year.. but i guess mother nature doesnt wait on anyone right?? i just have to grit my teeth and deal with it for now... i mean... worst case scenario.... well fuck thinking like that.. all the roots are still healthy and white.. so im not looking at root rot or anything.. just slow up take due to high temps... ive been feeding them a lot too... 6x a day or 15 minutes... think i should cut that back to 4x a day?? with temps like they are i just dont want them to not get fed like they want... plus i figure if i can circulate the water as much as possible i can keep it a little cooler.. or is that thinking way off??

ok.. so first problem has been the heat.. i knew how to fix it i was just going to wait... the clone room, which isnt a clone room anymore, had an access panel in it that led to the attic.. i had planned on just exhausting all the air in the room into that closet and use the can50 i had to scrub the air and exhaust it into the attic... well the other day when i set it up i just threw the can50 in there.. with no duct.. and opened the access panel... i was hoping it would push the hot air up into the attic and work as an interim thing until i got a 6" flange installed for the duct to hook to.. well today i said fuck it.. i got a piece of cardboard and cut it a little larger than the access hole.. i then cut a 6" hole into the center of it and pushed the duct through it.. and then screwed the cardboard up... and then taped around the edges just to seal it... doing this 20 minute project is helping to maintain an 85F temp in the room.. the ground level is about 10F cooler.. so my girls should be a LOT LOT better off... plus it should drop the res temp down a few degrees... and i imagine when i get the lights up and the exhaust in the grow room setup properly i should get to around 75F... plus the fresh air... anyways.. i should be good there...
second issue has been growth.. its been happening.. but not as much as i think it should... i attributed it early on to shock... but then the yellowing of the new growth started occuring.. and thats when i started thinking about things... why is the new growth so yellow?? so i first took and figured out the amount of nutes i used as compared to the feeding chart that comes with the nutes.. it was VERY similar.. that lead me to believe that its not a nute def of any kind... and although water temp does play a roll i couldnt imagine it was all that.. if the water temp was to hot for them to survive they would have all be dead by now right?? so i got brave and "dug" one of the girls up... and to great horror i found that the roots were BARELY wet... yeah... FUCK ME... so i dumped the hydroton out and replanted the girl about 6 inches further down then were it was... and then proceeded to do the rest to the rest of the girls... almost everyone was just a little to high to be submerged below the water line... which is obviously a lot lower than i first expected...
i feel like such a dumbass.. really i do... they have been growing because they are just barely getting enough water to grow.. but it hasnt been the shock thats kept them from exploding in growth.. its my own fuck up.. so.. if anyone ever purchases a ebb and gro system make sure you plant your girls about 4 to 5 inches below bucket line, or raise the timer box about 2 to 3 inches higher than ground level...
now i just have to make sure they dont get nute burn, but since they all have some sort or root structure now they should be ok.. and should expand their roots fast from this point out... good news about the root systems is they are nice and healthy and white at least... so that makes me a little more comfortable with the res temp...
