SSSC 1980's Catalogue Strain List

This is just like the beasters we would get early 2000s. Always thought it meant B grade nugs from Canada. Nugs were nasty. Full of chemicals that barely burned.
As someone who smoked a lot of beasters, I'd disagree somewhat. Some definitely sucked, but I think it was a bad cure more often then excessive chemicals now that I've grown a few plants myself. Sometimes they'd be so dense they'd barely burn until you dried them out, and the bags would look tiny. But some were great, especially considering the limited options we had at the time. Kind of skunky, earthy little pale green nuggets covered with light orange hairs much like your picture (but with a better trim job). But worlds better than the dirty brown brick weed or what we called mids back then (basically the same as the brick weed but not bricked). Part of why I'd love to find some M39 seeds now is to see if it really does resemble the bud I smoked so much of back in the day.

some new info: NL was definatley around in 1985, coming from the PNW of US, to Holland, for sale in Neville's Seedbank Of Holland from 1985-87. Not found in SSSC, unless its Basic#5
Originally named "NORTHERN LITES" by Seattle Greg.

The super saliva seedclub and another company I think just was called the seed bank were to my recollection the first two Dutch companies to advertise in High Times. I think there catalogs were free at first. I aways ordered from Sssc they were a little cheaper. Always came through for me. At some point in time something changed and they both quit shipping to the US. I figure the government had something to do with it.

Those were the days. After the two companies stopped shipping to the US I had to go over and buy my seeds. I was in the sensi store every night I was there. I mentioned Neville and they gave me funny looks. They had the first vaporizer I ever saw. It was a 5 gallon water fountain jug with a giant bowl. I put super Skunk in it. Then they hit the bowl with a heat gun. I mailed ten packs back to different addresses. Only 8 made it.

In the above picture, there are some sticky Orange bud and thick ol' indica- lookin' Bubba Haze x Northern Lights in the back row. Sounds like a valid cross. The mother was 1990's Sensi NL#1, afaik.

In the late 80s and early 90s the indoor commercial grows in my area were growing a northern lights haze cross. High yield and potent. It also was 2 hitter quitter. Looking back over the years I really can't say that this strain was better or worse than the original strains that I grew in the 80s. That was a long time ago.
