ironic considering Walt Disney wasn't exactly.. um...
well..
yea.
course back then was a different time, one of the worst was henry ford..
talk about a racist asshole..
but about 3-4 yrs ago espn (when purchased by Disney) went through a big phase, and hiring minorities and women was an obvious objective
again, not that I mind, but it is noticeable

Charles Lindbergh LOL J/S. Good to see you, where you been? I'm looking at changing an expansion valve in my Civic when it cools down, fml.

hey you
hows it goin with you?
I broke my hand/wrist and have been runnin my shop with only my left hand, whilst having the busiest summer ever, soooo yea I haven't been on this site much, plus had some girl-trouble too, aftert three yrs i finally had to just stop it all, felt a lil of myself slipping down the crazy-slope, so had to run away...but now i'm a single guy again and have noooo problems anymore, well, minus the distal median entrapment mononeuropathy bullshit i'm having with my hand..
which is miserable by the way.. doesn't hurt at all except if i move it a particular way, but then it feels like my hand is inside a 110 ac outlet, literally the EXACT same feeling (don't ask why i am so familiar with being electrocuted) but there is nothing like unpredictable massive nerve pain to keep ya honest, the other morning I stupidly picked up my coffee with my bad hand and didn't realize it until I tweaked it just right, which of course made me jerk my hand away like it was being burned, annnnd threw my whole damn cup of coffee on the rug, riiiight before I had to leave...
good times..
or the other night when i drank a couple beers and was chilling outside in my redwood forest, and then instinctively slapped my hands together to kill a mosquito buzzing around me... fuuuck that brought black splotches to my eyes and it made me break out in a sweat, it hurt so damn bad.... and all because i was extra stupid...
but yea, typing, texting, wrenching, etc, not easy, and if i can actually do it , then its reaaaally slowly
not easy with only my left, i broke my right hand yrs ago sparring and i forgot exactly HOW shitty it is to do everything with only a left hand again

sooo why ya changing the expansion valve? was it contaminated by a compressor failure?
or a leaking shrader valve?
usually i only replace those after fixing an open ac system, or if the compressor grenaded, which isn't super common for Hondas
is it just blowing ambient temp air?

So sorry to hear it's been 'interesting' for you. I figured you were just snowed under at work.

Add Vitamin B12 and Vitamin C daily in fairly large doses. Those help significantly in these type of nerve entrapment syndromes. Sometimes there can be a bone spur, did you have that checked?

Leaking shrader from the low pressure sensor port.

heh, umm well, the x-rays were inconclusive.. which i guess is common with that type of injury, annnnd it seemed that i knew much more about what was goin on than the dr... which is the problem that i seem to encounter..
and i swear.. if another dumbshit dr offers me antidepressents for physical maladies i am goin to slap them, it's like they get kickdowns from the pharmacies.
and i'm a pretty happy person, and i'm always optimistic, but I've had four diff drs offer me those meds for pain
wtf? How would that be a good idea?
anyways
i have a fairly good understanding on how they work, and why, and i fail to see the correlation to pain-relief.. at least acute types anyways
i mean the last i heard the whole idea, and primary objective of health care was to fix the existing problem rather than to add multiple types of drugs to one's biological "cocktail"
oh well.. it's been a while since i actually was impressed with a dr.
i mean if somebody rolled into my shop and knew MORE about their car than i did, i'd sure as hell be hitting the textbooks again..
i can safely say that not a single person has ever known more about their car than i did/do, but that's the whole point of taking your car to an expert, right?
anyways..
judging on the massive amount of healing time, and the other symptoms, i'd say it's a hairline fracture of the scaphoid in specific
but with no health insurance (i know, i know...)
so essentially i have the good ole "go-to-sleep-and-hope-its-better-the-next-day" healthcare..
and so far that only works if i stay home don't move it, don't go to my shop, buuuuuut i don't umm, well, make any money that way...
each weekend it gets much much better, and then by Monday night it's quite fucked up again.
shitty thing is i can't drive my sporty fast car (manual trans), and i'm stuck with my mammoth beast suburban..
but yea, no money for a mri (expensive with no ins)
it's all good, i'll get better eventually, just slooowly...
nerve damage takes a while to heal though, especially if you keep tweaking it every hour or so.
i'm discovering that the most annoying thing is each customer asking me what i did... now i just give them the abbreviated response
"Ahh, i tweaked it wrenchin"
the bright side is i'm becoming much more ambidextrous in regards to opening hoods, turning the car on with the key ( which hurts like an massive unwashed whore if i do that with my right hand)
tying my shoes, buttoning my shirt, WRITING...watering my plants, mixing soil, just damn near anything
