Start an auto seed during flowering for regular seed?

Just curious what everyone thinks about this.

I'm 8 days into flowering with my bag seed (random strain). So i'm looking at atleast 8-9 more weeks of flowering at a 12/12 light cycle. I've also ordered some auto feminized seeds that should arrived in the next week or so.

Can I plant an auto (or two) and use the 12/12 light cycle? I know I can, but I also know their will be a reduced yield. That's ok, i'm only growing for personal. If my seed arrive in a week and I slap them under 12/12 with my flowering bag seed, they would both be done about the same time. I'd end up yielding more in the end even though the auto will be yielding less than if given more light.

I guess I could also put the auto out of the tent for 6-12 hours and give it more than 12 hours of light. maybe that's what I should do. maybe i'm just stoned... any thoughts?

You can but I wouldn't. I've tried autos on 12/12. They will be small and only get a few joints worth. The same seeds under 18/6 or 20/4 would yield an ounce or two.

Is there anyway you can run the lights full time and put the photoperiod plants in a box or something? Lime the autos would get full light. The photoperiod you would put a box over it to black it out. Like a mini light deprivation.

Those first couple weeks of an auto flower determine the yield.

I know it would need serious light proofing, but cut a box open and make a divider that covers the photo 4 sides and top. Cover them for dark and let the auto get all the light.
