Bro why flush soil for 14-17 days but hydro 10 days, may i ask what feed your using in soil, mineral or organic. As for your ppms at harvest they are bang on, jus like some light shed on flushing soils longer than hydro.
my hydro takes up water much faster than my soil grow is my main reason i suppose. my hydro is top fed 4" cubes in2 gallon smart pots with hydroton base and my soil is usually 3 or 5 gallons smart pots so i believe the larger soil pots retain more food for longer so i just flush longer. ive been dissapointed with 7-10 day flushes in the past w/soil so i go longer. hydro however can really be 5-7 days but i go a full 10 just f o r peace of mind. i use gh 3 part as well as gh 2 part bases alternating between the two but phasing out the 3 part i think. i aslo use liquid karma, kool bloom, caliMagic, shooting powder or gravity(no preference). sometimes include diamond nectar in place of the karma along with trinity by roots. foilar feed with snow storm ultra and diamond nectar weekly till 4-5 th week of flower.

also i said plain water for 14-17 days not 14-17 of flushing. I feed the shit outta my plants sometime over 1500ppm so with that kinda nutes in the soil, plain water for as long as i do causes the plant to use all the left over nutes in the soil rather than just flushing them away.

I done a grow before with the gh line but i ionly used the micro, bloom and pk13/14 no extras, 4 plants in oxy pots under 2 250hps in a 4x4 , bro the tent looked like a forest, i was very pleased with the results of this mineral feed, i yielded 13oz 19g (of hard dense bud). And about 50g of popcorn scraggly bud not even worth smoking, but as for the "hard" nugs they were mighty fine, i did flush for about 14 days with ro water ppm being 47, the taste was immence of these buds and if i was to ever go back to hydro(probably grow after next) i must say i will be sticking with the gh line, have kinda been sold on advanced nutes, will have to see, @sacpirate any history with Advanced.

Different principal burgertime but i get what your trying to say i guess, my opinion on mineral feed is to flush thoroughly for ar least 10-20 days depending on your ppms throughout grow and as long as your run of is under 250 ppm on your final week of flush your good to harvest, and of course we all no ro water is preffered but is not always at growers discression.

I was actually responding to another comment made by an opponent of flushing earlier in the thread. I read constantly about these extensive flushing periods and I wonder the effect it has on the end result. A loss of density, cannabinoids, aesthetics, and overall quality is my experience. I have been working with a strain that is a pig, it eats very rapidly and thus I have been flushing in exponential runoff ppms for 3-4 days. From here, I induce an alkaline lockout that freezes the uptake of more nutes and it works well. 7 days and I am good without losing valuable time for food-based final maturation. 17 days is the most i have ever heard and most likely causing more harm than necessary. Just sayin....

not much history with AN but ive used thr full roots organics line with ok results anf the soul synthetic line also be roots and i must say the synthetic killed it the one time i used it but its to pricey for me and not available everywhere. im grtting ready to run the sugar peak line in my hydro set up since i got 4 free 16 oz bottles....grow, transition, bloom and grand finale. if things look good thru first 10 days of veg then ill continue use.

Sounds good bro , yes have heard of sugar peak its in my local hydro store by earth juice correct, hydro-organic sounds good to me, would like to see it in use, im sure you will be kind enough to show your results at a later stage. I do like the gh line but im always willing to experiment with other lines, you just never no you could well stumble upon something amazing.

Theres absoloutely nothing wrong with a 17 day flush or 17 days of straight water , this has never or will never harm my crops at all, and as for the loss of density, i dont get that dude it just must be the strains youve grown, i flushed plants in coco for 3 weeks before as i was running ver very high ppms through out grow as this strain was a "pig" and my buds were rock solid nugs, when you say your strains a pig do you mean it can drink loads of water or it can handle x amount of nutes you throw at it, if your runoffs less than 250ppm your always safe to harvest, this alkaline thing is crazy. If anythings going to cause damage it will be that before water.

flushing a organic grow seems a bit pointless dont you think, since your not using any chemicals anyways what exactly are you trying to flush out? microbes.

so you are saying in an organic soil grow ( like me ) 5.jpg using only Biocare products, that a flush is NOT needed ??
Today is day 49 and all my trichs are still white , not yet cloudy or amber ( 7-10 days ) left b4 chopping. If I feed once more with Nutes and a lil MOAB and then FLUSH for 2 watering or 4days I will be ok ?
