start from seed outdoors, or start indoors then move outdoor?

should i start my plants indoors then transplant them outdoors or just plant the seed outdoors?

doing sone autoflowers outdoors too.

any advice would be great on how most people do it!

I would definently start inside. Waiting Maybe after two weeks then moving to outside.

Starting inside is always better as long as you are properly set up for it. Much higher success rate. Even something as uneventful as a mild rain storm can wash away a week old seedling.

hey geezy. i`m moving along with my first auto grow also. i started all of my babies inside, then moved outside after less than a week (about 5 days). if you have the lighting set up to adequately give your girls what they need, then maybe keep them inside a bit longer. but my mindeset was that if i get the plants outside and into a variable living environment (sun, clouds, rain, wind, etc.), they`ll become accustomed to the type of conditions they`ll need to survive in through the grow.

also, i would highly recommend starting your babies DIRECTLY IN THE SOIL. I did a bit of an experiement with my germination methods (will post it someday) and ultimately germed 5 of 6 seeds, and now 4 are thriving. the other 2 that didnt make it were started in coco pellets...1 didnt sprout and the other died 2 days after moving her to a small cup with soil. I`m using Gold Lable Special Mix LIGHT...highly recommend the light mixture and highly recommend the gold label brand (company from holland since the mid 80s).

lastly, just in terms of the soil being a better way to start, i have 3 different strains going and all of them have sprouted at nearly the exact same time after sowing the seed (approx. 72 hrs). hope all goes well with your grow!

thanks alpine. i little confused on what ur sayn. starting the 2nd paragraph u mentioned starting them directly in the soil. u mean like the soil outside or just soil > coco?

I start outdoors never once have had a problem. I prefer starting outdoor because I don't have to worry about harding off plants and worry about early flowering. I guess it depends on where you live and the climate also.
