Start my flowering under veg light ?

Hello i have supergirl plants which have been under veg for about 5-weeks now from seed they look great. They are now about 8 inches in height and quite bushy.

Now i don't want them to grow and taller if i can help it. Unfortunately i can't put them into my main flowering room until another 4-5 days as you know by that time they will probably be about 12 or more inches which i don't want. I have five plants which when they move over will be running under a single 400 w HID.

So what i thought whilst waiting run the veg room as aflower room and set the light cycle 12/12 for just the next 4-5 days whilst i'm waiting but i only have 55 Watt x 2 tube lighting in there.

So is this a good idea or would it have a bad effect on the plants ?

Any advice appreciated.

yes, it is fine... :)

your plants are going to explode vertically for 21 days after you switch to 12/12...

probably triple in height.

yes I use my veg light during the first 2 - 3 weeks of flowering, its recommended in many writings

won't they stretch more during the flowering with less light? that could present a problem if you have limited vertical space...

Well if they double or triple in size from 8 inches that will be fine this time i will get the light to be able to hit the whole plant.

I have learned from the current crop that a high plant for me indoors is a complete waste of time the bottom branches are just not getting any light.

Thanks will put the plants on 12/12 in my veg room i will keep the light close to avoid any streching over the next few days. :joint:

Point taken at the moment there's a good 8-10 inches space between light and plant will keep an eye on it over the next few days as it does grow quick.

So excited about this crop everhything i have learned now finally coming together.

This i'm sure will be my best yeild so far. I'm looking for 1 half ounce per plant (i have five ) any more would just be a bonus i got 4 and a half on my last crop and made loads of mistakes with strain and angle of light etc.

So now i really looking forward to these going in, Ive grown them from seed unlike the last i done which were clones grown cuttings from a friend.
