Im getting ready to fire my grow up for the first time and am on information overload reading about nutes. Im trying to do this on a half assed budget but not really sticking to it. I think im going to go with either Botanicare or General Hydro/organics. Whats the bare minimum you would suggest to get started? From start to harvest i should say. I had these picked out but not sure if they are all necessary:Pure Blend Pro Grow, Bloom, Calmag, Liquid Karma, Sweet Raw, Silica Blast and Hydroplex. Im not stuck on these brands either. If there is something better/cheaper im willing to try it.

theres a few growers on here that use Hydroponic Research and i am currently using their dirty formula. I like it its a dry powder that you scoop into your water stir it up check your ph and ppm and your good to go.

I sent out for their sample and paid the s&h and I am amazed at how well the plants took off after using it. they sent me an offer when i recieved the sample for 10% off my next order.

they have a 3 different formulations, ro/soft water, Hard Water, and dirty if your using a peat base medium which i am with pro mix.

its also ph balenced since i started using i havent had to adjust my ph.

Yeah I'm going to use pro mix too. I'd like to find something a little simpler to use. I don't like the idea of having 10 different jugs laying around.

So with a dual purpose product like dirty do you still need to use supplements?
Well as they say to each their own. I have the whole humboldt line i aquired 3 years ago, I finally opened up a few needed for the first feeding in veg and never went back to them, Why ? Well i got my dirty sample and tried it out on the second feeding and it was so simple i said to myself seeing how well the plants took off and the simplicity of a dry formula i will use the humboldt if i notice any deficiencies further along. but i am not planning on it. but further into flowering i might change my mind.

I am a noob at using it as to advise on supplements but I am going to play it by ear or eyes, see how the plants are looking and decide at the time.

in dirt i wouldnt not use any nutrients until flower and at very low dosage like 1/4 to 1/2 dosage.... try to water every 3 days.... add nutrients every 2 watering. a good mix with 30% worm casting,20% cow manure,10% perlite and the rest a good soil/soiless mix like bcuzz or foxfarm.make sure the cow manure is dry, too wet its not ready. most supplement are garbage, look at a rooting supp(root execel is best cost/effective) and a PK booster for last week of flower.magnesium, calcium additive are useless if u have a complete nutrients. every other product, imo, carbo additive, vitamines, fulvic/humic acid and other shit, are marketing, no proven effect. in dirt ,keep in mind that more nutrients/additive u had , more likely you are going to have a salt problem... salt is a no no in dirt. I went ahead and ordered some Dirty Veg+Bloom last night. Seems like its pretty simple to use. Has alot of the supplements that other people sell separate already in it. Its pretty reasonable too price wise. Still may buy a few additives for bloom but am going to wait till i get to that point.
