starting a new grow

Well im going to start a new grow just popped my seed in the soil a couple hours ago and hope this one goes better than my last!! The last grow i cropped out 4/23/12 due to my plant breaking and ended up with 3/4 oz but she smoked ok she was 3 weeks early but could of been alot better. I'll post some pics of my new grow cab 2morrow if anyone is interested in them.

Avoid major branch damage by using a tomato cage. One of those wire deals that has circles of metal to stake up tomato plants.
I grab one when I'm growing out a bushy plant, especially when a clone mother retires and I put her out to flower. Note -- cages
are a bitch to put over a larger plant. So put the cage into use as soon as you TP into the final pot. Another note -- for best results
put your brand new seedling into a 4-inch pot and leave it there for 2-3 weeks. This will make the plant grow bushier. Then when you
TP from the 4-incher to the final pot you grab the cage.

Tomato cages also come in handy when I realize I got too many plants flowering under the light. Caging them makes them stand up straighter --
taking up less space as well as taking weight off of flowering branches.

Well heres my new setup hopefully it works for me , last setup i had was just the top part of this one and itwas to short my plants wanted to grow to tall and i had to lst the shit outta the last plant.

Heres pics from the last grow you can see where i had to lst her to fuck and back

Im using 320 watts cfl
5 gal bucket dirt is a top soil no additives mixed with peet moss
3 cpu fans for exhaust at the top
1- 6" intake fan at the bottom

not yet just popped her in the soil yesterday but i have some AN Big Bloom for later on , black molassus , orchid bloom thats about it

you need to istall some kind of baffled trim that goes from the cabinet to the wall so you don't see the light eminating from the back

Yo dude - just wanted to quickly say i love the set-up & how u've constructed it all together - and i'm always pleased to see someone getting tasty results with good old CFL's too! I love my closet CFL grows too & is cool to see how nicely ur last plant came out (and on it surviving some crazy LSTing, it seems! hehe!), so i hope the new enlarged set-up helps u get bigger returns this time!

And just outta interest, from ur set-up pics i think it looks like u've made ur own carbon filter with the PC fans?? If so, can i ask how u did it as i wanna make some budget carbon filters/fan combo's myself soon. I'm guessing u've filled the plastic cups with activated carbon/charcoal and the PC fan pushs air out thru it?? Did u make any sort of internal structure inside the cup to hold carbon, filter air, etc better, or is it just straight filled? Cheers in advance & sorry to hijack with a question already! (lol!) I'll make sure to offer my advice on any future questions u might have!

Dimebong yes i'm using that big pot for my seedling ( i wouldnt see the point in starting it in a small cup then planting in the larger one) i've always started in large pot with no negative results , but if you or anyone else has any insight to this let me know. And Red, i have carbon rapped in screen shoved into those cups for the filter it works ok for the smell the fans are the highest power i could buy so it would suck the air through the carbon without slowing down the fan speed or possibly burning them up. And drive can u elaborate on the baffled trim i'm at a loss on what that is? And millie thanks for the kind words and all of your guys love ty.

that or they have this black fiber like insulation they use for ductwork it might actually be filter material it could obscure light. you could put it on the back around the lights. if you need more stealth, right now its pretty stealthy just a little light blead.
