starting dwc

ok i have a fairly small bit of experience with dwc now under my belt and have had good sucess with my 1st grow with the principal but I had a source i could get clones from before to use in it and now the source has depleted, due to being too risky.

I cant clone myself yet, ive tried like 40 times with NO sucess. can i clone with dwc? and how so if i can, and how would i go about starting from seed and putting seedlings in dwc while they are an inch or so long? Ive thought about using split straws instead of netpots in a temporary rubbermaid system untill they get big enough to put in a bigger more permanent system. any thoughts?

also would a coke can be suitable for 1 plant to be flowered as soon as possible in sog style grows? ive been using 2 bubble stones per can and plant and it works great, i just havent tried flowering them yet as. ive been veging them for my partner to flower in his room on a seperate premisis.

how soon can i flower in dwc? is it ok to start 12/12 when the first node is done developing and its starting the second?

ha ha im high now and checked on my post and just caught this. i guess the other 19 people that have read this and given me any help, havent caught it either.

to root clones in dwc, simply place the cutting in the medium and put a floro above. they'll root in about ten days (most strains)

don't use coke cans for pots. trust me....

thanks very much for the info on cloning but 1 more thing with that, do i need to use any nutes or growth products at all while rooting this way or do i just use straight (tested and adjusted of course) water without anything in it?

i plan on cloning (or attempting again to do so with a different method now :) some sprigs at about an inch tall if at all possible and then flowering them immediately in a sog method. hopefully my plants will finish out at about a foot and a half each, and get a half ounce or more harvest per plant.

However, since i dont have much cash to start this grow setup i have to use fluros. the whole way. and they are the 4ft shop light type that hold 2 bulbs apeice. But i got 4 of them for free so i cant complain. all i had to do is buy the bulbs and some cfls for side lighting.

Im concerned about the end product because of all the downplay on fluros on here that I have read. But i dont plan on flowering as big crop by any means with them, and i wont bitch about getting any smoke in the end no matter how much it may be. if i only get 4 ounces off ten plants then im happy.

rootone helps when taking cuts, i use superthrive and gh three part at 1/4 1/4 1/4 for rooting. i don't bother with ph, it's never been an issue for me. once they have roots you need to treat them they way they need to be treated.

flouros and cfls are great for sog. they don't have good penetration, so big plants are tough with cfls and such, but you should have no probs.

get a mix for your tubes, 50/50. ge daylight, and ge kitchen and bath. this will give you full spectrum lighting.

i can clone myself, you are me,so like me i struggled with cloneing but then got it right,so will you, good luck.

i actually bought cool white tubes by mistake to try and flower two ugly 4ft high plants a friend of mine had outside.
then i found out i bought the wrong spectrum for flowering, so i added 4 of the daylight bulbs by GE and left 2 of the remaining cool white bulbs.
(someone ruined one and didnt take anything from it. not even as much as a leaf was gone off the plant but the stem was twisted to hell and back)

ive got rootone and tried cloning using that but had no success so im gonna try dwc cloning. I have a small chamber with airstones and bubble screens hooked up in it for the clones but i need to devise a way to hold about ten plants or so in the system that I made.
the diy on here says to use tubing with a slit in the side of it but im gonna try disposable straws to save a buck and an hour long trip to wally world.

i considered trying to add some rootone powder to the water in my dwc cloner. what are peoples thoughts on this? if no one has already tried it then im gonna make a small cloner in to try with and ill let everyone know the results.

and thank you miss for all the advice. I have some superthrive im using on em. But i dont have any cash right now to order any new nutes and i dont have anywhere but online to get em around here. I have superthrive (liquid) and some super bloom ( powder 10-55-15) i cut some twigs that seemed great except for the stems are really tiny but i wanted them small so i can pinch the new growth out at each new node starting to make 4 growth spots at each node instead of 2.
Its called the FIM method. I read it in high times and it gives guaranteed 2 times bushier plants than just letting them grow naturally. I havent heard anyone mention it on here though......

also i cant figure out how to search for fim method because fim is less than 4 letters long. have the same problem with words cfl, and dwc. suggestions? anyone know any better methods or improvements to design?

the first set of clones i tried to root in soil like a month ago.......yea i forgot about em and went and got em today and the 5 surviving ones have strong root systems. I guess in all reality i figured it out the first time. lol
