Well the plant uses energy (from light and nutes) to make its leaves. If the leaves on the bottom never see light...then why make the leaves? wow i might have stumped myself. lil stoned

so wat u are saying is to trim off all the bottom leaves off? that wont slow it down sense its on its 2ed week of 12[12?

i can already see a problem with your res's they are not light proof try wrapping them up in black duct tape and keep the res temps between 60-68f> Everybody does the same mistake their first time other than that u did pretty well o and another thing try getting either some more cfls or hps lamp thats y ure plants are looking droopy not enough light. Dont trimm em just keep it like that and see what you come out with you dont want to stress them even more

Looking nice and healthy, Tito !

Wasted energy means that the plant will be putting time and energy into lower buds, that will end up "popcorn" buds.
Reason is, they are too far away from "usable" light.
For instance, if a person is using a 400W HPS, anything 24 inches below the light bulb is NOT getting an adequate light supply for dense, fat buds.

It's called The Inverse Square Law..............check it out:
The law states light intensity changes in inverse proportion to the SQUARE of the distance

I=L/D2
Intensity = Light Output / Distance 2(squared)

400W HPS at 50,000 lumen:
50,000 lumen = 50,000/1 or 1 foot away from bulb
12,500 lumen = 50,000/4 or 2 feet away from bulb
5,555 lumen = 50,000/9 or 3 feet away from bulb
3,571 lumen = 50,000/16 or 4 feet from bulb

As you can see, anything more than 2 feet MAX, is a waste of time and energy
The Sun gives off 10,000 lumen per square foot on a normal day, so why give your plants less than that too
For a 600W, it means beyond 3 feet is a waste
For a 1000W, it means beyond 4 feet is a waste

Now there are ppl that go beyond these limits with some success
But if they follow the Inverse Square Law, they will reap MORE BIGGER BUDS AS COLAS w/ NO POPCORN BUDS BELOW

cool thanx for the info i think ill do some trimming then i want some fat buds not popcorn. will this slow down r hurt the plant? i dont want to stress her.

As long as you don't trim TOO MUCH at one time, stress won't be an issue.
You do have a lot down below. Might slow it down for a day or 2 at most.
You can also use those lower limbs for clones since you have to cut them off anyways.
That's what I use them for when I trim back.

thanx brokiss-ass ill do some trimming very soon sorry to bug with so many :confused: but i have one more is it better to do the trimming in the dark cycle or light:confused: :joint: :peace:

I have always done mine within the first 2hrs of lights on. That includes feeding them, when I run soilless.
When lights are off,they are "asleep" and NOT feeding. Which is why you harvest in the dark, because you dont want MORE nutes in you stems and buds.
At lights on they begin to feed from the soil and photosynthesis begins.
And you want to flush really good, 2 - 3 days prior to taking clones because excess Nitrogen slows down the process of rooting. You need more Phosphorous when cloning.

thanx bro i did some trimming last nite 3hrs before the lights came on:? it didnt seem to slow my girl down at all:hump: she is still growing normal as far as i can tell i think ill do a little more trimming in the next few days:weed: ill let her heal first i did some clones but they all have flowers i was going to clip them off wat do u think:confused: :peace::joint:

Leave the flowers alone, they will be fine.
Just make sure you dont have more than 2 - 3 nodes above your clone medium and trim the leaves in half.
4 - 6 inch clones are a good size.
