starting out need info plz

hi am in u.k. and just started growing about 2 months ago, only got 1 seedling to grow out of about 20 seeds, dont know which variety as all mixture. but the only seed has only grown about 4" in 2 months it only has 3 node leafs instead of 5. apart from size or lack of it it has got quite bushy lots of shoots, i am only using retail compost and have it in very lighty window on about 16light/ 8 dark. as summer time here in u.k. am trying to grow naturally. can anyone pls help me out with info, have,nt got photo of it yet will put one or two on when can, thanks guys.

Well, it's probably not going to grow much with just light from the window....it's just not bright enough to make your plant happy.

ok so what do you recommened artificial light? i have a halogen light heater which really does not give of any heat at all but lots of light do you think that would be ok to use and if so how much light should i give it? sorry but am a newbie where growing is concerned, or maybe put outside now frosts have gone and temp is increasing?

It's cool we were all new, to this, at one time. I like to help as much as I can. You could move it outside or get some spiral cfl bulbs. Whichever works best for you. Pics always help too...people respond alot quicker.

ok aye thanks mate good to know there ppl out there that can help so can i use the heater or not like i say it hardly gives of any heat but a lot of halogen light its 200 watt. yes am not at home just now so cant put photo up yet will try to upload one from mobile phone if possible. do you guys have cheese out there by way? you proberly have a different name for it. thanks again

Hey I ws going to say that.

CFL's - use a mix of 6500K and 2700K (the kind you get at the hardware/grocery store), at a 3:1 ratio for veg.

For flower, I recommend HPS.
