So I want to start growing but not sure what is the right equipment. Ive been looking at the grow boxes and thought that could be a route. So if anybody can point me in the right direction would be very helpful.

Well if you got the room to toss up a tent that would be a solid route choice, other people take to chester drawers, closets, but tents are pretty rad they are easily controlled environments. Lighting is also a must, I like to use fluorescent t-5’s for the seedling-vegging phase, then switching to either HPS or MH lighting of some kind.
Best advice though is catch up on your cannabis readings, “The Cannabis Grow Bible.” is a life savor when it comes to starting out growing, what you can expect to encounter, how to prevent, basically a lot of what you’ll wanna know about marijuana is in that book, available on itunes, or a bit torrent near you
