Stealth Cabinet not staying cool enough *pics*

Well i have finally gotten around to putting this cabinet together however during a temp dry run it had gotten to 92F in about 45min

What im using -
400w sun systems switchable ballast
yield master 2 hood 6" duct
2 120mm PC fans both flowing in the same direction *double checked*

there is no other in/out air aside from the hood duct.
there also isnt a fan on the inside of the cabinet for the girls yet.

What is the best way to go about cooling this entire unit?

i would get a circulating fan should help if it does you need cooler air gettin pumpd into it.

I assume the optimum place to put a hole with a fan pulling into the case is the floor or close to it. above the grow medium containers i imagine would be a good place in this cabinet.

any other ideas?

Drill a hole in the bottom and put an intake fan there

yea i agree with nismo and newb a circulating fan would deff help if not you could try adding a strong pc fan for outtake near light level to help

hmmmm, ok so fans on the floor idea i like. heres the trick, how do i prevent light from escaping through the fan holes?

i need to make a base for all the cups to sit securely, under that i can place 2 intake holes to greatly reduce the temp

on the subject of cups, what size is recommended for this for a soil medium preferably sea of green. dixie cups too small?

i ran into the same issues as you with a 400 watter. made the same mistake to. ok first that 120mm fan will not pull enough air thru the venting for the light. second take some slack off the venting its self, all the ridges slow down the air flow further. cutting some slack out will help you a few degree but the best choice is find a stronger fan for the light. also have a fan blowing inbetween the tops of the plants and the light, that will help them survive higher temps.

there are 2 fans on the hood vent both 120mm, the fans in place now are low output however i have 2 panaflows coming in the mail that move ALOT of air... when i remove a side of the vent the air is moving at a respectable speed.

this might be crazy but what about taking air from in the room through the cool tube and out your outake fan. you can still extend the ducting a little past the light to keep the heat compartmentalized, but leave it unattached and in the room (With as few of bends as possible for the physics aspect as trunk was talking about). then Put active intake at the bottom like you were saying. Now you get cool fresh air flowing through your plants and out the top psat the bulb...just a though (May work better when you get that bigger fan). If you do that route i would have 1 active and 1 passive intake at the bottom (Something about having 2 fans in circuit of different powers/outputs reduces the effectiveness of the more powerful one...like 65/35 that is right, been a LONG time since physics)
