Here Are Some Pics Of The Ones That Sprouted. When I Was Moving The Light Closer A Hanger Fell And Hit My Tray Of Babies. Ended Up Losing One Seed That Has Not Germed Yet And Noticed That Some Others Bounced Around A Little Bit And Shifted. Sprayed Them With Some Water And Hoping They All Look Great Tomorrow. Itsa Crazy How Everytime You Look At Them They Grow Some More...well All I Can Do Is Keep My Fingers Crossed..

question, if i have a carbon filter can i install the exhaust and carbon filter in my grow room without causing much heat or would i need to place the carbon filter in a seperate area?

not saying it would cause heat but would it still work to exhaust out my room, would that still transfer the old air out and bring new air in from the intake?

if you have a hole on one side of the room (intake) and a hole on the opposite side (exhaust), both equal in size, and you attach a fan and carbon filter to the exhaust hole, then you will suck in fresh air with only the exhaust fan blowing out. in fact, this is ideal as it creates negative pressure inside the room, keeping odors from escaping your filter. assuming you have an air-tight room of course. naturally your fan will determine the amount of heat you can move.

The only thing that concerns me, and I should give you the heads up, is I just installed an intake in my grow room and I had a few problems. My room is very similar in size to yours (3 x 5 x 9). I have two 400 watters and I am using a 300 cfm to directly cool the light hoods.

I initially tried to just exhaust the air in the room with the passive intake system, but it got way too hot. Hooking it up to a carbon filter would have slowed down the air circulation even more, causing the temp in the room to get even hotter.

Hooking it up to the hoods directly keeps the temp at a steady range of 84 - 86 F. The outdoor temp will have some effect on the grow room temp as well. I have read on here that a good rule of thumb is to get a fan that can pull the air completely out of your room three times per minute.

So just I'm saying, once you start running that 400 watter, you might realize that you may need a stronger fan or more than one, especially if you are hooking it up to the carbon filter.

Cool fuckin setup by the way...

cool thanks for the good advice and kind words...i was planning on a 440 cfm inline but the carbon filter for that is huge, and the guy at the store was saying it could be overkill...only reason i went with smaller fan was b/c of the size of the carbon filter. right now the temps are about 5 degrees higher then the outside room and i do not have the exhaust or intake working at the moment, but once i get the 400 i know it will be hot. i am gonna give it a couple test runs and see how the temps go once i get this...Adorama Darkroom Light Tight Louvers, 8"X8". will let you guys know how its. have seen a couple post where people used them and liked em, so i will let you know...babies are looking great and all them are starting to stand tall..plan on switching pots and putting the 400 on them in the next week or so..

spliff:::: how are the 2 400's in there? was thinking of buying another one. hard to pass up a deal for $119. are those reliable lights / systems? currently i have sun system, but have only got 1 grow under my belt so still new...
