Stealth Closet Perpetual OG Kush

I'm doing a hobby perpetual grow of one of my old favorite smokes, OG Kush. Who doesn't love some of that sweet citrusy diesel taste and smell?

The grow cabinet is a small vintage wardrobe, divided into 2 flowing levels (unless that proves ineffective), each level lit by a 2' HO T5 4 bulb fixture, and 4 supplemental CFLs (2 6000k, 2 3000k).

The mothers are currently vegging in the wardrobe while everything gets built and sorted out, but will be moved into my stealth speaker (veg room) in the next week or two, at which point I'll take some clones and start them in the wardrobe, though future clones will be started in the other speaker (clone room).

The plan is to supercrop, LST, and/or SCROG the plants in the wardrobe to maximize conopy area. After a few successful runs I do plan to try Mainlining and monster cropping.

I'm a novice, and am starting with FFOF/Perlite for a medium, Dyna Grow nutrients, additional Cal Mag from AN, and PH'D tap water.

The plants are 1 month old tomorrow. I started germination on Halloween. I have had PH issues early on, and possibly not FFOF that set me back a little, but the plants have recovered well after a little stress.

As I finish the speaker cabinets and wardrobe, I'll update them here as well as the plants. I'm thinking about maybe using LED lights inside the speakers, but will start with CFL because they're cheap.

The last two photos are a mutant leaf on plant #2 and one set of fan leaves with 11 tips... Not sure what the deal is with that... I thought 9 was the limit on them?

Looking good. I've got 2 og kush ladies 8 weeks into flowering. One was topped once, the other twice. Both also were lst'd. They responded well so scrog and mainlining should also work for them. Good luck and happy growing.

Awesome to hear! I topped mine yesterday, I'm wishing i would have done it 1-2 weeks ago, but i was battling some plant health issues.

Dip you have a photo of yours in flower? I'd be curious to see how it looks and compare mine later.

Edit: I actually FIMmed*

She's been forming trics since week 3. This is a bud from the one I topped once. IMAG1477_1.jpg

The one I topped twice is not as far along, still alot of white pistils, so I'm thinking another 7-10 days or so. I'm in no rush. I want the best quality I can get from this run because I won't run it again till july/aug next year. Gonna check trics tomorrow on the one pictured above.

Hahahahahaha :weed: They've been growing since August so I'm sympathetic to how you feel. When I was watching videos of people 5-8/9 weeks into flowering and I'm looking at 3 week old babies I was becoming anxious too! Patience and caring will get you there before you know it. bongsmilie

Definitely, I have been spending a lot of down time reading journals, and watching the plant problems page trying to soak up some info. Lots of great info in some areas. I don't smoke much, used to blaze constantly. Mostly doing it for the hobby and I'll help a few friends out. I'll definitely try mine occasionally. :)

looking great! what day from seed germination did you top the girls?
If you're asking me, day 28 from germination. And I actually FIMmed by accident, but that's what I'd prefer anyways. That's called a happy accident. Lol they have responded well and have pushed up new shoots already. That was 2 days ago.

Took my first set if clones today, rooting in ffof soil with Dynagro rooting gel. The plants have been growing like crazy and are getting very bushy and drinking tons of water. I've been having to water every 2 days (which is fine with me).

Temps in my wardrobe are going to be a problem when it comes time to flower. With just 160w of cfl lighting temps are at 84°F, and I will be pumping out 500w of fluorescent light for flowering, but the lights will only be on 12 hours... I think I'll still get a larger exhaust fan, or add a second.

I also cut a few very small branches off one of the clones, I decided to try to root them as well for fun. I'll put up a photo later.

Also, on the last photo, you'll see the leaves are drooping, I find that weird because just before I took the cuttings they were just fine, must be a reaction from having its head cut off? Haha

Yeah, thanks! i should have my little veg cabinets up and running next week and then ill be able to set the wardrobe up for flower and run it empty for a few days to see what the temps do.

The clones are under a humidity dome btw. I may make an aero cloner in a few months depending on my soil clone success rate. Not sure if i should be giving them nutrients or not, but i gobbed the rooting gel on them, and hopefully that's enough for now.

I've made some progress on the nursery/mother rooms. I lined them with Mylar, ran power, installed lighting and 12v fans. I still need to run the ducting and actual vent fans, and lastly install the carbon filters. That should be done in a few days though. Also, I'll paint the dummy speaker black and put a center cone on it to sell the appearance a bit better. The plan is 100% stealth for the nursery cabinets.

I took a couple more clones in case the first don't make it (and the mothers are a little bigger than I want them at the moment). Once the clones take root and are ready to transplant, I may flower the mothers for sake of space, and start taking clones from the plants in flowering in the future. We'll see. Playing it by ear say the moment. As I'm learning more and seeing what my space allows for, the game plan is slowly evolving.

The little diy filter I made is working great, I need to increase the air flow from the bottom of the wardrobe to the area it sits in, but for now it's ok. When I make the final changes to the wardrobe for flowering I'll tidy up the top level and get things a little better organized.

The real Tommy decided to make an appearance in the photo with the speaker.

Things are going ok, this way of growing seems to have a long startup time. I'm getting a little impatient to start flowering, but I want to make sure I have some good healthy clones before I start flowering anything.

Kinda did a double post, have been having issues with this lately... one post won't show up for hours, but the original will be saved as a draft. So ill finish and post it, then both will show up and i can't delete or edit the one i want to get rid of for a day or two. Ill delete the unwanted ones when i have time.

An additional note, the clones are in a different container with a humidity some that is not in the photo. If they look good, ill be starting flowering of the mothers around Christmas, and likely monster cropping from then forward.

Just a couple photos, the 4 clones on the left are doing well, I am letting the one on the right live for now, but it doesn't seem as healthy, if it doesn't make it I won't sweat it, I'd be happy with 4 of 5 making it.

Also a couple photos of the mothers. The more I think about it, the more inclined I am to start flowering them sooner than later. Another week of veg or so and I'll probably repot them into bigger pots and flip them. That way I can take some clones off them 3 weeks into flowet of the others aren't looking as good as I had hoped.

They look very healthy to me, I've dialed in the feeding on a cycle of 3 waterings, #1 cal mag, #2 dynagro grow nutrients, #3 tap water. Ph alternating between 6.0 and 6.9. I think I could give them more nutrients, but will try that out on Another run. When I water with tap, I aim for about 25-35% run off to try to keep salts from forming. Maybe it's silly, maybe not, it seems to be working. *shrug*

Assembled some of my supplemental lighting today. I didn't feel the 96w T5 was enough. In the photo the CFLs are 23w (100eqw) but I'll have a couple 40w (150eqw) lights in there when I hang it.

The mothers looked a little stretchy to me after topping and taking clones, but I'm finding each completely covered with new interior growth, some branches have 9 nodes with new growth, so I think by the time I flip them in a week or so they will be very full and lush.

Watered and slightly increased nute strength, will be watching for toxicity in the coming days. The soil was completely dry, and it's amazing to see leaves fill out and swell after only 5 minutes from being watered.

Things are looking good to me.

I hate to say but it could be Going considerably better. I'm having a tough time keeping the heat down. I'm going to order a better exhaust fan and am slacking on adding the Mylar to the walls. I have a fan blowing on the lights themselves, which has lowered the temp in the cabinet by 5 degrees F. Still not enough, it's about 84-86, but yesterday managed to reach 90. I need to come up with a permanent solution, and my goal is to have 2 additional intakes, and a better fan on the way in the next few days, in addition to adding the Mylar.

I did repot today into wider (though not deeper) pots, and tie down the main branches, though I found it moved some of them away from the best light, so we'll see how it plays out. I had seen this working better in my head, but I'll adapt and optimize it over the next week.

I'm going to let the plants adapt to the new pot and lighting for a day or two, and then flip to 12/12. I read an article that suggested starting at 11.5/12.5, and decresing light/increasing dark by 30 minutes every 2 weeks through the flowering cycle. I'm thinking of giving that a try.

I think my clones have began to take root, as there is some new growth on them, hopefully a few will make it and I won't have to start new seeds.

I'm wishing I had a larger grow space already.

Here are a few photos, though I'm not exactly proud of what they show.

I seem to have my heat issue under control. The plants have responded well to the repot, and are loving all the light from being tied down. Things are looking up considerably from the other day's doubts.

My clones have all shown roots out of the bottom of the solo cups (except one that is an experiment...so still waiting) which gives me a 4/4 success rate on the first run of clones. I've even been able to top and begin training them.

I stayed up later than expected to finish the clone/veg cabinet, but I'm pretty happy with it. Here are a couple photos... I have another one that is almost done that the clones have been living in. I used 12v computer fans and made a carbon filter for the exhaust. Just need to spray the dummy speaker black and draw a silver circle on the middle to sell the appearance. :D
