There is big discussions on this forum about LEDs being a big scam, mixed opinions all over the forum, I decided that I would find out for myself. So the lighting might change along the way but it's gonna be strictly LEDs.
First of, the frame:
I have a 4'' inline fan and a carbon filter, a bit overkill for this dresser but I had it already, and I know it would be better at the top but I prefer to keep the space for the lights, I ll do my best to keep good air circulation. The fan is hooked to a Sunleaves fan Speed Controller, and it goes on 4 min every hour for the 12 hours.
STRAIN:
Super Lemon Haze (vegged 40 days under HIDs)
Tangerine Dream (also vegged 40days under HIDs)
****both plants were super shocked when I re-transplanted from 3gallons back to smaller pot for the dresser, they are just recovering, in case you are wondering why they are so small still...
SOIL :
1 1/2 Bail of dirt ( 3.8 cu.ft. ) ( major component: Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss (70-75% by volume), Perlite, Dolomitic and Calcitic Limestone, wetting agent, Mycorrhizae )
about 1.5 cu.ft. dirt from my compost
2.5 lbs Guano ( roughly half of a 2.2kilo bag )
5 lbs Flower Power mix from Welcome Harvest Farm 4-10-4 ( fish meal, bone meal, greensand, canola seed meal, langbeinite, kelp meal, rock phosphate )
2.5 lbs Fish & Crab from Welcome Harvest Farm 8-5-1
2.5 lbs Neem Cake 4-3-2
30liters of castings worm
2 tbsp Humic Acid
Now the fun part... LIGHTS:
current:
100W Diamond Series LEDs - Extreme 3w LED Technology
90W QUAD BAND LED GROW LIGHT UFO 90
to come: (I might swap the diamond for this one or run all 3 LEDs...)
Fero 180 4G Series LED Grow Light (60x3W)
I can already say that the LEDs are not as heat free as they claim, especiallly the UFO, in a small dresser it's enough to bring the temps up to about 29degrees celcius... I have 3 small co2 bottles going to counter the heat... (yeast & sugar)
ok so it's day 1 of flowering, like I said earlier, they had a tough start, but they are doing well now and we'll see how this LED dresser perform!
NOTE: in the event of a total flop, the gardener ( I ) and/or the lights could be the cause!
More pics will be joining the party every once in a while, cheers!
