Stealth Grow Setup by First Timers - Post #1

We found ourselves interested in saving $$$ by growing our own. One of our first questions was how to do this in a house, of which is rented (i.e. A landlord can come in with 24 hours notice).

We researched indoor grow options and came across a number of "stealth" grow closets and setups. It was obvious that this was the path we needed to follow.

After seeing what others had done, via a number of YouTube.com videos using the search string, "Stealth Marijuana Growing" and knowing that we wanted a setup that would allow a constant flow of bud, we figured that we needed two units one for the seedlings & vegetative stage and a second for the flowering stage.

Again, we want an "as constant" supply as we could obtain so having two areas allows two different stages/two different plants, to grow under the lighting necessary for their cycle.

Buying new dressers to gut them seemed pointless and a waste of money.

Fortunately, we live in a larger city and with a number of apartment buildings around; we simply kept our eyes open for some furniture in the garbage. Nothing too nasty and something that would be easily gutted (i.e. wood furniture vs metal as wood furniture is easy to cut/break and screw into. Metal is not.)

Grow Unit #1: We came across one dresser (5 drawer 4.5 ft HIGH and 3 feet WIDE and 1.5 feet DEEP). The 4.5 foot dresser would be used for the flowering stage of 1 to 2 plants.

Grow Unit #2: A metal cabinet that had two separated sides, each side with their own door with built in "breathe grill". This unit is 1.5 feet HIGH, 4 feet WIDE and 1.5 feet DEEP).

The metal cabinet (4 feet WIDE) has two sides. Each side has its own door and the side are separated by a metal wall, so in affect, we have three separate areas to grow.

Metal Cabinet (Seedling/Vegetative): We opted to have a seedling side and vegetative side.

Metal wasn't ideal but this thing looked brand new and appeared it would do the job as the breath grill wouldn't mean we'd need to cut any metal. It had nice supports build in for lights to clamp on to as well.

Dresser (Flowering Unit)

Metal Cabinet (Side #1 for Seedling/Side #2 for Vegetative)

Our next post will be how we took the dresser apart and built "what looks like" a normal dresser. The metal cabinet's design is perfect so little manipulation was necessary.

looking good, good job keeping the costs at the lowest, what kind of lighting are you using? CFL HID etc. and for the flowering stage id say you could easily fit at least 2 more, even more if you decide to SoG (sea of green) plus its a system meant for a steady, constant supply. otherwise, happy growing!
