just for u, lol im just awake so i got a digital thermometer fitted and after a bong i will be adding the intake fan instead of having just a hole, im really kinda set on keeping this growing with CFL(till the end, then experiment with HPS ) just to realize the possibilites, i try and tell people u can grow with normal energy efficient lights and they dont believe me, disbelievers....i think after i finish this grow im going to use all the space in the cabinet apart from the 2 bottom drawers... i love the thermometer, and the fans are adjustable from 3v to 12v, so im gonna keep track of the temperatures and adjust the voltage to get just about 27°C , or should i go upto 30°C < just heard higher temperatures are better for resin production but i think it also needs Co2 to make use of higher temps. ill post more pics in a few mins i just need to edit and resize them in photoshop, thanks

Interesting grow, I just started with 3 cfls 23watt, I'm one week in and things are good, this thread(and others) are very encouraging. But one thing.....is your plant touching the light bulb? I think you need to lower your plant a little, I just don't want to see it burn.

You might want to cover the sides of the container your plant is in. It looks clear so when the roots grow close to the sides they will get hit by light and that is bad. Roots like darkness, light hurts them

thanks for caring they are all just over an inch away from the bulbs and there is a fan circulating the air around the bulbs, i wanna keep them as close as i can without harming them... what size are u growing in?

ill get the container covered soon, is there anything u can suggest, i dont want it to have any wrinkles....lol

i opened my box of wonders today and noticed there is alot more pistils....nice..here is some new pics from today, or now actually (((11.00am 27/09/2009)))bong time.......lolol, ive gotta run out for about 40mins so they will be up as soon as i get back but the pics were taken wen i said<<<<.....

im sorry i havent got to update with any pics earlier, but i have got alot of stuff done in this time........see...ive been busy...
i went to B&Q to get a 70w HPS security light but they had none so i went into the town the next day and tried to get a 125W cfl cos they are small enough but couldnt find the correct shop so i went to the shop i knew sold 150w cfl lights but they are a bit bigger than 125w's so i was nearly put off cos im very restricted with space. So after all the walking trying to find the shop and a mcdonalds for double cheese burgers i ended up getting the 150w. i absolutely hate the size of this light for my box, but im sure itll make it worth it. i can clearly see where the bud sites are and i love them . and after a few hours of work i had the box ready with the new piece of sun inside it, i also had to do a wee bit more lightproofing cos the light shone out the sides like beams of light wen the room was smoke out. apart from that ive noticed the plant growing over night from i got the light...lol onto the pics...all suggestions are wanted as id love to improve and make more use of what ive got...thanks














does anyone know how many lumens this light produces...- its from powerplant, envirogro 150W cfl 2700k(+rep for any help),
i have been looking at threads where others have grown seeds from start under 12/12 lighting, and the plants look cool, so while my first plant is still growing im gonna start 2 blue cheese under the same light....hope u enjoy this as much as i am....

and finally does any know any methods of cooling a grow box, such as adding something to the intake fan to cool the air???????...i really need a bit more cooling.. thanks ill keep updating

You are going to need to get a more powerful exhaust fan dude. Temps like they are now will def decrease your bud in the end. I would look into a small inline fan or something because those cpu fans aren't going to cut it

im trying to find the more silent options or the quietest atleast, do u have any suggestions for fans, ive got 4 x 80mm inside now
1 x intake >>> \
1 x exhaust >>> > all running off 12v adjustable power supply
1 x leaf blower :0 >>> /
1 x blowing down the center of the bulb >>>> 10v

im thinking that if i try and run then all of separate supplys they will be more powerful, but i dont think i have enough power supplys, so i might try and make the exhaust 10v on its own then the rest adjustable.....and the exhaust fan is rite next to the bulb, any suggestions

Well here is a site that has a lot of cpu fans and power supplies that you can hook them up to.
Look at the sone levels on the fans, the lower the sone the lower the sound. Also, the higher CFM the stronger the fan

i swapped the exhaust to its own 10v supply but its noisy...and the other 3 are now together on the adjustable power supply.. hope this helps the temperature

i moved the thermometer because it was too close to the light and was getting exposed to too much radiant heat and it was black so it would have been giving false readings

i should be getting a reflector later on today so wen i do ill update with more pics, and ive gotten the temperatures down to a stable 28.4° cool eh
