Stealth PC case grow questions

Hey everyone this is my first post on this sight although a have been observing for some time now. Sorry for all the questions but you guys convinced me to start my first grow,

I have decided to use a PC case stealth type set up with CFL lighting. I plan on growing 2 plants in this space. I have the materials needed and I'm going to build my case this weekend.

Now I'm looking for advice on selecting a strain. Height and smell are both issues. I will be using LST to keep them smaller but I'm still worried about running out of room. Can anyone recommend something that will fit 2 plants in my PC case and not stink my whole house up?

Also, are nutrients absolutely nescessary to grow any sizeable amount of good smoke? If so, do i only need bloom nutes if I'm using an autoflowering strain?

Should i get feminized seeds? Is it that hard to tell the sex of my plant in time to prevent polination?

Well j, your questions require a little more information in order to answer correctly, but I'll take a shot at what i can.

First off, its not all that hard to id a male before he ruins your while crop. The problem is with a limited space you will want to dedicate as much space as possible to the females and if half will be males statistically with reg seeds then that's a lot if wasted space. Might as well get some feminized if you can. I would pick an indica as they stay short but if you just do a 12/12 grow from the start height will never be an issue. You could even veg for a short while and lst if you want. It all depends on how much room you have to work with. What are the dimensions?

Smell will be an issue no matter what strain you pick. You will need to build yourself a carbon air filter if you haven't already.

The nutes are a necessity in my opinion especially if you are goin hydro. Are you using soil? If so you could get a respectable plant with MG. Check out the book by Seemore Buds. However, the plants full potential will be reached if you give it something that was designed for it. Or if you do some research and go organic. Nothin tastes better!

Even if your using an auto strain it still needs all the nutrients to build the bud sites and perform its daily functions.
