Stealth/Safe DIY CXA3070 project

I bought a pack of 3000k ABs, they seem to only get 100 of them at a time and may have sold out. They should have 3k Z4s. But besides the 3k, they now have 5k AD and AB. 6500k BB! (Top bin).

The 20 packs are a tough sell. too many for the little guys, too few to resell for a profit.

EDIT: the 3000k are z2s​

Ok so once again please forgive me, im really not trying to hijack. I'm a rook when it comes to electrical. I was hoping to get some direction on what am I supposed to do with this ground wire on my driver. I noticed in pics of these diy cob projects I don't see the third wire coming out the driver .

It's just a loose wire isn't it? Probably there in case you DO need a ground. Class2 types of Drivers don't require a ground because of insulation and have Load and Neutral Input with Positive and Negative Output, no ground.....other classes will have them....

Hi folks !

Just a little update on this project progression:

I gathered most of the required parts including pk3, kapton tape, cob holders ... The only missing items are the heatsinks which the carrier takes ages to deliver ... They should be arriving in a couple of days though !

In the meantime I put some seeds to be sprouted (3XNY Diesel, 2XEuphoria and 2XMedical Mass) and they'll go right under some eco lamps for the first week of grow.


Next WE I'll most probably end the led pannel construction and from that point on will use it to give another week of grow before I put those seedling in the flowering cycle ...

We're almost there my fellow DIYers !!!

Time 4 Sum Aksion :grin:

ALL parts have been gathered now so my buddy and me are gonna start building this pannel in a couple of hours .... finally !

I will consist of two massive heatsinks held together by 2 alluminum profiles. Each heatsink will have to passively cool 2 CXA 3070 driven at 1050ma max. It will look a little like the attached file.

I'm still a little unsure on how spaced apart the cobs should be mounted onto the heatsinks but will try to figure it out soon enough :) If you have any thoughts ... (pannel is 18"x18" and it's supposed to light a 2'x2'x5' tent)

All my seeds did sprout without no problem and they are looking forward to have the new light source up and running :leaf:
